Today’s #sipteaandepp topic with Lauren @mollyandmama and Larissa @stitchingnotes is thimbles. I have resisted using a thimble because it feels cumbersome, but I recently saw a fellow sewer with a leather thimble and it persuaded my to have a try. I am stubborn about it though and still only use it when it’s too painful to sew without it!

Almost chucked this one out because my lovely iron decided to take a on it while I was pressing it. ☹️ But, I figured I could just use it without feeling any guilt over spilling on it. So after sitting on top of my WIP pile and staring back at me saying “finish me” it now has a binding and is ready for some serious usage and spillage! ☕️☕️☕️ Now, time for some afternoon coffee!

I’m joining Larisa @stitchingnotes and Lauren @mollyandmama this morning to #sipteaandepp and I’m working on finishing this row of my @sewandquilt row by row block of the month. The topic for this week is how we protect our hands and I’ve recently started using leather thimble pads and they’ve really helped to reduce soreness. I also use a lot of hand cream as I’ve found my skin dries out a lot when stitching. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s makes and hearing their tips. 2,966! . That's how many 1 inch squares have been hand stitched together using English paper piecing technique in this postage stamp quilt so far. Today, I added the block I've been working on and counted the squares. Feeling so close to the 3,000 squares mark! But not even close to finishing the quilt top.
