Probably the best view of Manhattan is from Top of the Rock in Midtown. They don’t allow tripods, but a gorillapod works perfectly! Also it gets crowded around sunset, so get there early!

The view from Hamilton Park, Weehawken is probably the best timelapse view to shoot the New York City Skyline. On this one, you can see Times Square, the Empire State Building and Hudson Yards along with a beautiful moonrise!

On the right, 432 Park Avenue, currently the tallest residential building in the world. And in the middle, still in construction, SHoP’s 57th Street Tower, which is going to be even taller, but also the skinniest building in NYC.
The view is nice from up there but you apparently feel the building moving when the wind is strong, scary!
