I think we can all relate to wanting things that aren't good for us. Some of us express that by focusing on obtaining physical comforts, some in food indulgences, and a lot of us in people. We want these things and people, because we believe we will be able to accept ourselves. That then we can be validated and know we are worthy, when in fact every human being is already worthy but just can't seem to recognize that. I don't know why so many of us get into this cycle. Maybe it's become easier to convince yourself you deserve less, or you've forgotten what it's like to have a healthy relationship yourself and others. I'm really not sure. Maybe the best way to reverse this type of habitual craving, is that instead of thinking about 'what I want to achieve/have/create...' is the start thinking what do I have to offer? Because every person has something to offer, start small, and then maybe you’ll find depths of yourself you didn’t even know you had to offer. Yeah, I get that it's not nearly as exciting, as thoughts of want- but maybe what you have to offer is the answer to quietly receiving everything you actually need <3
R❤️AINBOW “Lover’s Rainbow by @piacamil is set in two locations across the U.S.–Mexico border (Baja, Mexico and the Coachella Valley), Lover’s Rainbow is conceived as an identical set of rainbows made from painted rebar. Exposed rebar usually signals development, but too often in the Mexican landscape we see those dreams thwarted and abandoned. Historically, rainbows have symbolized rain and fertility. Located in desert territory, the act of bending the rebar into the ground is a way to re-insert hope into the land. The mirror rainbows are also meant to throw light into the current immigration policies, prompting viewers to see things from two perspectives. Those who cross the border get the full experience. After all, going in search of the rainbow should highlight its symbolic power to re-establish hope, love, and inclusiveness when we need it most.”
