And now for something completely different. The colour isn't perfect and is certainly deeper/brighter and more purplish/mauvey than I had originally planned, but after bleaching I decided my hair was still too dark and too green to swing a pastel and I nixed using the diluter in the dye, so my idea is to rock this and fade it. I've already faded it a bit by washing with hot water and shampoo not formulated for coloured hair, but it will take a bit of time to get to the more faded pastel rosey colour I was aiming for. Still, damn not bad for doing something that takes professionals multiple sessions or full days. Hair colour isn't as simple as slapping on whatever colour you like over what is already there, and you really have to work with the colour wheel. From green, I should have gone to blue, purple, then pink, or from green to yellow, orange, pink. But I did something very tricky and nearly impossible for someone doing it at home, and I do NOT recommend anyone else trying such a dramatic switch without help from a professional. I've been doing my own hair for years, and if I screwed up, I was willing to take responsibility for it. So yes, please don't try switching colours suddenly like this if you don't have much experience with doing your hair!
