In 2016, I made the slightly crazy decision to put a down payment on my very first silicone tail. 3 years later and a much gruelling test of patience and anticipation, Pisces finally arrived at my doorstep on March 2019 and just before my birthday. It was a surreal experience to say the least that she finally arrived and unboxing her was quite the delight. Being my very first post, I thought an unboxing video would be a perfect opener. Enjoy!!

I could fit both of my arms in it zipped I was super nervous about doing these alterations but with the help of my amazing Mermama, we were able to take in 2-3” (by hand) on each side! To continue on from my story yesterday, I was not in good shape last year health and emotionally. A good friend got me into contact with her thyroid specialist and swore that she was the best. Of course given my history with "thyroid doctors" I was nervous, I was afraid of being over dosed again and my mind drifting back to the old days I had worked so hard to over come. But I went, and this doctor has been probably the best doctor I've ever seen. She truly cares and is a perfectionist when it comes to levels. Now a normal TSH level (the hormone your body sends out when it needs more thyroid juice) should be between .5-1.5 mine was.....285.7 My doctor was amazed that I hadn't had a stroke, a heart attack, or even in a coma. It was by the grace of God I had been surviving. She even did a sonogram on my throat and hers to show where the thyroid would be, this was really confirming for me because I had always been told I was born without one but never had picture proof.(swipe to see the sonogram) It was quite a turning point for my health that day. I confessed my fears and my background with mental health and she 100% understood and wanted to start me on the lowest dosage so that I could feel if I was going back to that dark place. She also stated that I have an absorption issue so I have a new type if medication that is supposed to help with that as well.It's been almost a year now and I am so happy to report that my health is doing amazing! I actually have energy and I'm not in constant pain and my memory is back to being sharp. It's amazing what one little gland can affect. I hope you guys have enjoyed my story of my journey with hypothyroidism.
