There are always lots of belemnites sticking out of the rocks on the Yorkshire Coast but this one really caught my eye. This is a really nice 5” belemnite dating back around 180 million years. Getting these out in one piece, even when they’re as exposed as this one is the tricky part as they’re super fragile. I’ll admit that this one came out in two parts but the break was clean and once reattached, it looks like new. This is the only cow shark tooth I have ever found. It came out of Possum Creek in Gainesville, Florida. I am contemplating selling it. Possibly. It all depends on how much it's worth. I have some idea what Bone Valley cow shark teeth go for (around $300) but this one is way prettier colors. Not to mention that it's in very good condition. This was one of those trips where we didn’t find many teeth, but Brent and @christy_ellis managed to find the biggest Megalodon we’ve found since we started hunting 2 years ago. The @natural_history_museum in London is home to some of the most complete fossils of prehistoric sea animals, including ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs, some of which were discovered by palaeontologist Mary Anning and her brother in the early 1800s. This massive wall also contains Jurassic crocodiles that lived in the sea, fossils that inspired stories of sea dragons, a female ichthyosaur fossil with evidence of six unborn young in her womb, and another specimen that died and was preserved in the process of giving birth.
