Late post to remind you all that we don’t skip Mondays! . Mondays are leg days for me and I have been loving my new workout. It is all created by 1stPhorm and you can find it on their free app called MyTransphormation. It’s really awesome and you guys should check it out! . My workout today: 20,15,12,10,8 reps of back squats 20,15,12,10, reps of goblet squats 4 sets of 40 walking lunges (I use 12.5lbs for that) 4 sets of 20 calf raises . They do have multiple workout options to choose from too! It helps me because I can focus on my performance at the gym without having to waste time figuring out what workouts I am doing that day. . A few things I wish I knew before I started my fitness journey✨ 1️⃣ Unfortunately, you’ll never be satisfied. No matter what anyone says, for example “I’ll be happy when I’m 20lbs lighter” or “I’ll feel good in this outfit when I’m at my goal weight” You guys, with that mind set of course you’ll never be satisfied. Looking back, I wish I started my journey with a positive outlook on myself and started for the right reasons. I was in that mindset absolutely hating my body, I kept telling myself 10 more pounds and I’ll be happy, and that was at already losing 40‍♀️ in the end, that led me to a very bad and unhealthy relationship with not only my body but food. 2️⃣ You do not need to be doing endless hours of cardio session a week to see progress. Been there, done that and in the end it got me no where ‍♀️ Then what do I need to be doing? Resistance training and use cardio as a tool. A lot of people think cardio is a fast fix, but nothing comes easy and I promise you once you start incorporating weights you WILL create your dream body. 3️⃣ EAT! Food is not the enemy. You need food to fuel your body, and your workouts. Unfortunately, many people who start a “fitness journey” end up with either an eating disorder or eating disorder tendinitis. I can speak from example. For over a year I was afraid of food, I would obsess over any little thing I consumed. You don’t need to eat less, you need to EAT MORE of the right things. Fuel your body properly and find balance within your diet. After losing well over 65lbs, I’m still learning to love my body. IT. TAKES. TIME. Inside the mind of .⁣ ⁣ I’ve hesitated posting that first gym pic. That first post really sharing my thoughts, my struggles and my triumphs. Will people make fun of me? Roll their eyes? Or think, just another fitness junkie rambling on. I’m finally getting to a place where, you know what, I don’t care about the negativity, because if sharing my story helps one person, it will be worth it! ⁣ ⁣ I’ve been a “yo-yo dieter” for as long as I can remember. My issues with food started as far back as grade school and just got worse as I got older. Body image was always a struggle for me. ⁣ ⁣ “ , ’ .” ⁣ “ , ’ .” ⁣ “ .”⁣ ⁣ Weighing myself obsessively. If I didn’t like the number on the scale it literally ruined my entire day. If not week. ⁣ ⁣ Fast forward ...I am finally getting to a place where I feel more confident in my own skin. I still struggle with negative thoughts about myself, picking myself apart and only seeing my imperfections. But I also see the positive side, how learning about my body, how food actually fuels you. How you need it to survive. I’ve slowly gained a more lifestyle where I am able to enjoy the beautiful things life has to offer. Including looking in the mirror and being happy to be alive! ✨Transformation✨ Sometimes it is hard to believe that was actually me on the left, but at the same time it’s also hard to believe that is me on the right. I DID THAT To this day I still catch myself saying “I haven’t changed” or “I don’t see any progress” and that’s why comparing pictures from the past to present is so important. Not only does it keep you going and get you to push even harder, but it gets your mind right. You are able to see how far you’ve actually come I strongly encourage you to keep going friends, keep pushing yourself past your limits. Don’t get in your own way, only YOU can make it happen. It takes time, consistency, dedication and a whole lot of will power to achieve your goals but if it’s something you really strive for make it happen If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my journey is to never hide who you were or try to block those images out of your head. I did that for nearly a year. I couldn’t look back at certain times of my life when I was my heaviest because I was highly ashamed. LOVE yourself through it all.
