REAL TALK. Ya girl is breaking out, and honestly it could be for a few different reasons. Something I noticed this past year was that my acne seems to flare up a whole 3 months after I eat badly. Right around 3 months ago was CHRISTMASTIME and you know what that means?! Candy and sugar and cookies and hot chocolate pretty much every day. I knew I’d be facing the consequences in March. I’ve also been consistently taking a supplement for my ovulation, and some reviewers on Amazon say it broke them out bad. ‍♀️ I’ve also been tooootally forgetting to take my fabulous and miraculous probiotics every day. Ugh. I’m just asking for it. That can be the hard thing about finally knowing what breaks you out, because then when you do have a breakout YOU BLAME YOURSELF. I can so easily start saying things to myself like “Well Maddie if you had a little more self control over your eating this wouldn’t have happened.” Or maybe “Well if you weren’t so scatter brained and forgetful maybe you would have clearer skin.” My acne is no longer a mystery to solve, but instead it’s a constant reminder of my incompetence. I have the answer to my own clear skin, but sometimes I just gotta have a cookie. Or 4. Sometimes I lose the habit of taking my probiotic and have to re-train myself to do that daily. My physical imperfections are literally the consequences of my character imperfections. But let me just say this reeeeaaal loud. IT’SOKAYTONOTBEPERFECT. Y’all, life is messy. Life is constantly pointing out our imperfections to us. I know some people out there who think the only way to avoid the pain of their own imperfections is to become perfect. But they’ve got it all wrong. Our imperfections are what help us to grow, they help us to relate to each other on a deeper level and find ways to help each other out. For me as a Christian, my imperfections are what led me to Jesus. My issues are too big of a load to bear on my own so I let him carry those for me. Thanks Jesus. He’s like “Girl you go live your life, you go shine.” (Idk maybe that’s how 2019 Jesus would talk) So that’s what I’m doing. I’m living my life. I’m shining. You should too.
