Cleopatra VII Philopator was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, nominally survived as pharaoh by her son Caesarion. As a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty, she was a descendant of its founder Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general and companion of Alexander the Great. After the death of Cleopatra, Egypt became a province of the Roman Empire, marking the end of the Hellenistic periodthat had lasted since the reign of Alexander (336–323 BC). While her native language was Koine Greek, she was the first Ptolemaic ruler to learn the Egyptian language⠀ ⠀ @ancientarcheology ⠀ ⠀ VII. Kleopatra (d. Ocak MÖ 69 - ö. 12 Ağustos MÖ 30), Antik Mısır'ın son Hellenistik kraliçesidir. ⠀ Kleopatra iktidara, yanında büyük Romadiktatörü Sezar ile geri döndü. Another amazing shot of Teotihuacan, an ancient Mesoamerican city located in a sub-valley of the Valley of Mexico. It is an important archaeological site, known for its architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids built in the pre-Columbian Americas. At its zenith, perhaps in the first half of the 1st millennium CE, Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas. Apart from the pyramids, Teotihuacan is also anthropologically significant for its complex, multi-family residential compounds, the Avenue of the Dead, and its vibrant murals that have been well-preserved. Additionally, Teotihuacan exported fine obsidian tools that are found throughout Mesoamerica. The city is thought to have been established around 100 BCE, with major monuments continuously under construction until about 250 CE. The archaeological site was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and it is the most visited archaeological site in Mexico. Inoltre è il più visitato del Messico. by @airpano Go see my stories to know something new about travel or archaeology!

The Spartans are possibly history's, the world's, greatest anomaly. Every pillar of their culture held up a structure different than anything else the world has ever seen. Every pillar more unique, stronger. They were a nation of mighty individuals who formed an unbreakable whole. Theirs was a creed above all else, a creed that dictated greatness in all things. No excuses, no retreat, no surrender. They strived to excel in all things human, and in addition to their conquest of matters physical and military, they were the consummate philosophers (this has been lost on the world). And it was their training, their lifelong, complacentless work that gave them their indomitable will, their very invincibility. A Spartan was molded in the hottest forge, the most intense crucible. His life's mentality was that "the only way out is through", and that accordingly he could conquer anything. There is a reason we remember them. Certainly for what they achieved at the pass of Thermopylai, but that legacy was only made possible because of the tenants that ruled them. For to this day they lie there in their tomb of honor and glory, giving meaning to the very word kudos (praise), and they will still tell you: "Go, tell the Spartans, passerby, That here, obedient to their laws, we lie" @trulyspartan #sparta #ancientgreece #ancienthistory #militaryhistory #hoplite #thermopylae #specialforces #thisissparta #history #military #ancienthistory #greekpride #hellas #war #warrior #molonlabe #300spartans #historylovers #spartans #greece #warhistory #ancientcivilization #ancientgreek
