If you missed my stories yesterday, I discussed my bottle obsession and how I went ham at two antique shops. I went from I don’t need a clear bottle collection to being gifted a few by my friend @rustic.valley.vintage, and now I have a full fledge assortment. I can’t help it. I like groups of like things. My hubby thinks I need a new collection like I need a hole in the head. Ironstone, brass candlesticks, old books, skeleton keys, amber bottles, vintage clear bottles.....what will be next Also, I’m so excited for another addition in my home! I ordered the Rhett corbels from @designsbywagoner which are Laura’s @threesonsfarmhouse collab. My first pair of corbels y’all! These are the large aged finished and I’m thinking they need to go on my island once we revamp and extend. Momma needs a wine fridge Until then they will sit pretty

It was two years ago that I tried desperately not to fall in love with this place. I tried not to notice the winding tree-lined drive, the blossom filled gardens, the meadows of flowers. I tried to tell myself that the beautiful tiled floors, the huge windows, the stunning, chippy shutters and the original wood panelling didn’t make up for the old septic tanks, the damp, the dodgy electrics and the dead flies everywhere. I fought against the very heart of her calling to me, asking me to love her and restore her. But in the end I wasn’t strong enough to resist. From the moment I first saw her photograph it was like a tiny thread attached itself to my heart, always pulling me back, telling me that this would be my home and my life’s work. We’re in this together she and I (and Tim too), building our little piece of her history until she chooses someone else to take care of her. Sometimes it pays to follow your heart.

Gone are the days of posting on Instagram every day and running outside with a plate of food to capture the best lighting. Instagram has and will continue to change, but I'll still be who I am and live vicariously through all the beautiful squares and DM's from my friends.I'll also be over here using all these old things today in my kitchen, because tick, tock, it's almost Baby Time!!.
