Another customer who loves their American Coop, this time in #Denver #Colorado. This is a standard American Coop that the customer stained and we think it looks fantastic! You may notice the human access door is on the side, not in the front as it is more commonly placed. All our coops are constructed so you can out the door either on the front or either side! How many chicken coops do you know where you can do that? Our walk-in coops are all predator proof and have our signature deep litter beds, so no cleaning for at least a year or longer. We love making our customers happy and taking the chores out of chicken keeping. Chickens are so good for self-esteem. Yes, yes! I know when they flock to us the second we come outside, it’s because they’re looking for treats and handouts. But that really doesn’t matter, does it?!?! . The end result is that we still feel like the popular kid and that we have a bunch of adoring fans! . Besides, it ups the happiness factor. Who can keep a straight face when a bunch of chickens see you and come running hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!! We’ve missed youuuuuuuu!! . And all of that is good medicine for life. . (So I guess I should say raising chickens helps us live longer!) . #chickensmakethebestfans #unexpectedperks

Kinda looks like me after my alarm goes off in the morning . In other news, all that’s been on my mind lately is my emus. The fecal test came back negative, but I gave all three a dose of ivermectin (medication that kills parasites) because I know first hand that one negative test doesn’t rule that out. All three babies are also on strong antibiotics. I gave them a selenium and vitamin B shot as well. The vet also took tons of blood samples yesterday when I brought Charlie in, so now it’s just a waiting game. I’ll post as soon as I find out what this mystery disease is! Thank you guys for all of the messages and suggestions! It’s hard for me to respond to every single one, but just know that I truly appreciate it .

I may or may not have 40 button quails hatching in a few days . If you’ve hatched these guys out before, you’d know that they are lightening fast and really flighty compared to other quail species. I keep them as pets more than anything (and because I’m obsessed with all kinds of eggs). You could definitely eat their eggs, but you might need to crack more than a dozen to make a small omelette

It’s all fun and games until you have to get your chicken out of the tree.
