MARKVARTICE, KATOLICKÝ KOSTEL SVATÉHO MARTINA Občas mám intenzivní pocit, že si jen velmi málo vážíme velkoleposti doby, ve které právě teď žijeme. Pořád s něčím nejsme spokojeni, každou chvíli se nám něco nelíbí, stěžujeme si na každou maličkost, zveličujeme drobnosti, řešíme nesmysly a ve všem hledáme problém. A přitom se kolem nás dějí úžasné věci. Jako třeba v Markvarticích na Děčínsku. Fénix povstal z popela. Kostel svatého Martina. Krásný venkovský barokní kostel, postavený začátkem osmnáctého století a vysvěcený v roce 1704 salcburským (!) arcibiskupem Janem Ernestem Thun - Hohensteinem (byl největším donátorem stavby). Sloužil svému účelu až do šedesátých let dvacátého století. A pak to přišlo. V roce 1960 byla odvezena většina bohatého vnitřního zařízení někam do okolí slovenské Nitry. Zbytek vybavení byl postupně zničen. V následující době pak došlo k úplné devastaci objektu, ze kterého v osmdesátých letech zbyly pouze obvodové zdi, porostlé břízami. Bez stropů a beze střechy. Místní komunisté se opakovaně pokoušeli prosadit demolici kostela a v roce 1989 byl již dokonce vydán demoliční výměr. Jen sametová revoluce zabránila jeho provedení. Zdařilá rekonstrukce kostela proběhla v letech 2003 až 2017 a 23. září roku 2017 byl chrám znovu vysvěcen salzburským emeritním biskupem Mons. Aloisem Kothgasserem za účasti biskupa litoměřického Jana Baxanta a dalších českých, ale i německých kněží. Více než dvacet milionů korun a tisíce hodin práce mnoha dobrovolníků, kteří pomáhali jen za stravu a ubytování. Buďme šťastní, že jsme se dožili doby, kdy jsou takové zázraky možné.
