Hi everyone - this is @andreacolvile’s husband Robert. As she mentioned on Instagram, she had been in hospital for most of this year, fighting a horrible auto-immune liver disease. I’m sorry to say that on Sunday, she lost that fight. I wanted to put this picture up to remember her as she was - this was at breakfast on the morning after her wedding - and because she so rarely put her own beautiful face on Instagram. I know she loved this site - loved the friends she made, loved the beauty she created, and loved coming up with an absolutely perfect image. The success of her #littlefamiliesofig hashtag amazed and delighted her. On her computer I’ve found so many beautiful unpublished photographs which I hope (if Instagram will let me) to share over the coming months in her memory - or to find someone a bit better at using Instagram who wants to take the project on. There will be a memorial service here in Battersea on July 23 - I will send her friend @sophiewarrensmith the details - but in the meantime, please remember Andrea, and the beauty she created. Looking back at her amazing pictures has been a small consolation for us recently. Going away on a family vacation is both a wonderful experience and a painful experience at the same time. The first year after my son died, I could not in any way go to our yearly family vacation place without him. The thought of being there without him was just too heartbreaking. The following year I thought about maybe going someplace else... but that too was heartbreaking. The third year after my son died, I had a need to see our family vacation spot. Honestly, deep in my heart... a tiny piece of me wondered if he was there waiting for me to arrive... I know that’s not possible... but that tiny part of my heart wondered. That third year, being away on family vacation at a place my son loved made me feel joy. I wanted to step foot on all the places he had been... It's 6 months today since my husband passed away.
