Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile 5.5/10 Just like its title.... the movie feels really long. “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” had a good story to tell, but it was poorly executed. Ted Bundy’s story is really interesting, I’m curious to watch the Documentary (also Directed Joe Berlinger) because the movie felt really weak and didn’t give me what I needed to know. They were trying to manipulate our emotions towards the main character but it failed because everything was obvious from the very first start. They wasted the movie’s runtime trying to create this feeling instead of focusing on Ted’s personality so we can build a connection with him, or at least understand his motives. I couldn’t feel any sympathy towards Ted because I was confused by the way they chose to portray him. On the other hand Zac Efron’s performance was a positive element in the movie, he was convincing considering the fact that this role is far from what he usually portrays. Lily Collins was good, her character transformation was remarkable. They could’ve easily reduced 20 minutes from the movie’s runtime, many scenes felt prolonged and unnecessary. Movie review for Colette Where do I start. Okay, well I’ll just tell you what this movie is about. This movie is a true story about Gabrielle Colette, and we unravel her story around the period of 1895-1910 roughly. She is a writer who’s been writing stories for her lover, and he takes the credit for them basically. They eventually have a smash hit of a novel and we see how it changes their lives and where the novels will go from there. Colette, by trying to get her work out there is also trying to challenge gender norms, and isn’t really managing to stick to one lover. I think with that, it’s somewhat of an important film for this day and age. Or at least it tried to be. It’s directed by the guy who made Still Alice which I still haven’t seen, but heard good things about, then again I heard good things about this movie so. Alright fuck it I’ll just say it, I thought this movie was shit. I mean, not even really shit, just boring as FUCK. There’s plenty there that makes it accessible to the general viewer, but in this time, you’d expect something different. I tell you what, I’m sick to fucking death of these drama films like Guernsey Literary, The Post and now Colette that follow an extremely conventional style. Mainly period dramas, it seems. But my god take a look at The Favourite. That turned a period drama on it’s head and fucked it repeatedly. If Yorgos Lanthimos was directing Colette, you bet it’s gonna at least be interesting. But CHRIST is his the most conventional movie I’ve ever had the displeasure of sitting through. It’s the kind of period drama that has a basic as fuck style, that we’ve all seen before, decent actors doing their part, orchestral music to move you from scene to scene, quirky little “funny” lines that would only make a theatre of 70 year olds giggle, and a over dramatic edge that never fails to make me go “I knew they were gonna say that.” Fuck, is this shit predictable. Going in to watching this film, I wanted a reason to say “Keira Knightley is still relevant” but I didn’t really get that. (CONTINUED IN COMMENTS)

Sad to hear about Luke Perry’s passing. Met him a few times at school where our kids went to elementary together, super friendly dude. “8 Seconds” has always been a Sunday afternoon guilty-pleasure kind of biopic for me. Brings tears every time I see it. Luke’s one of those I had always hoped to work with in some capacity :( Thoughts and prayers for his kids and loved ones.
