We were lucky enough (and very excited) to attend a private viewing at the wonderful @aardmananimations Studio here in Bristol this week - we were even fortunate enough to meet Gromit creator himself, Nick Park! We loved grabbing a sneak peek of the bright, beautiful and whimsical sculptures created by talented artists and designers that will be hitting the streets of Bristol from Monday for the @thegrandappeal Gromit Unleashed 2 Trail! // MARBLED FABRIC FISH // We made these little fishies using the @artcampla template from their awesome #sewasoftie tutorial. We loved the simplicity of Art Camp’s fish softies so we had a go at making our own with a Colourful Minds twist. The boy and girl have been obsessed with shaving foam marbling since they were small. But today we had a go at doing it on linen and thin cotton fabric - can’t believe we’ve never done it before! It turned out beautifully! Using Art Camp’s Sew a Softie template we made ourselves a very colourful shoal of fish. The girl wanted to practice her machine sewing so we sewed them together that way. The boy enjoyed adding gills, scales and details with sharpie pens. ————————————————————————We’re taking part in Sew a Softie this July. And the girl is one of their Kid Ambassadors this year so she’ll be hosting our Love Monster Workshop @craftisan_shop on 21 July to coincide with our tutorial. Can’t wait! Get the little (and big!) kids in your life sewing and join in with this month long festival of stitch organised by the inspiring Trixi from Coloured Buttons @colouredbuttons . ———————————————————————— WHAT IS SEW A SOFTIE?
