Battle of the Powder SPFs! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thanks for your patience as I tested these for this review. These are mineral powder SPF products. I tested with and without makeup. I tested at home and in the car. I found them all to be effective at preventing tanning and burning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Supergoop Invicible Setting Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 45*. I tested the Translucent color but it also comes in Light, Medium and Deep. It is sweat resistant and mattifying. It comes with a refillable brush and refillable base. The brush can be removed for cleaning. The brush is made of antimicrobial bristles. Active ingredient: zinc oxide 24.5%. $30 for 4.2gm. This product would be great for hot humid summer weather and for those with oily skin. The powder can get a little messy and get everywhere but at least you know the powder is being dispensed. I also noticed that it disturbed my makeup ever so slightly and it is slightly too mattifying for my dry skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Paula's Choice On-the-Go Shielding Powder SPF 30*. Described as translucent on the site but on my skin I feel it has gives a slight tan tint. No other color options. Mildly mattifying. Brush can be removed for cleaning. The plastic encasement is also coated for UV protection. Active ingredient: zinc oxide 19.24% $29 for 2.55gm. The powder can get messy as can the container. But again, at least you know the powder is being dispensed. It didn't disturb my makeup. This would be better for dry to normal skin since it's not as mattifying as the Supergoop. The sliding feature that covers the brush does not close very well so I often have to use my fingertip to push the head of the brush into the slider. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Colorescience Sunforgettable Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen. Water/sweat resistant 80 minutes. PA rating ++++. Also protects against blue (HEV) light and infrared radiation. Antimicrobial brush. Avilable in 4 shades Fair, Medium, Tan and Deep. It's a translucent powder that doesn't disturb makeup. Unfortunately neither one works! I have to open the tube and tap the powder onto the brush before using instead of just shaking the tube to automatically load the brush with the powder. Terrible fail. I will still use it but it will be messy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The powder is nice and finely milled. Looks great on the skin--doesn't look chalky. I like to use this type of sunscreen for my midday reapplication rain or shine.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This type of sunscreen in general is great travel, for applying under or on top of makeup.
