Luego de esto, el estadounidense de padres egipcios, fue elegido para meterse en la piel de uno de los artistas más importantes e influyentes de la música, Freddy Mercury. Para muchos, la decisión no fue la mejor, ya que de los nombres que soñaban para interpretar al iconico vocalista de queen, Malek era el menos parecido.
