On a weekend of the greatest miracle in the history of the universe, I thought it fitting to share a miracle of our own. After countless years of infertility, traveling the wayward path of IVF and losing two babies I was briefly pregnant with and countless others in a Petrie dish, I found NaPro. I have been charting on myself for a little over a year and have been seeing a NaPro trained OBGYN/ surgeon in Peoria, IL. I had two surgeries this winter to remove stage 3 endometriosis using their virtually scar free technique. This month we were supposed to start lab work, hormones and shots, to try and get pregnant. God had other plans. I'm PREGNANT!! Naturally!! No meds, no procedures, no shots. Just a little of me and a little of Shane and a WHOLE LOT OF THE LORD! I knew Our Lady of Guadalupe was interceding for us. I am only about five weeks. Lab work and an early ultrasound all looked good. It's a bit too early to see a heartbeat but I have another appointment next week. I am sharing this now because I think a lot of pro-lifers do our cause a disservice (unintentionally) by hiding pregnancy until you're "out of the woods". All life is precious and should be celebrated at every stage!! Plus, should the Lord take this baby home, I will need all your prayers. Adding a sixth child to my tribe will take a little bit of my time away from everyone. There’s just no way around that. It’s a struggle parents of multiple kids face. We try our best to give individual attention and fill up their cups, but do I have as much time for each as someone with less kids?... likely not. So when people say things to me about it being unfair to add more kids to our family... well it stings a little. Not being enough for ALL of them is a secret guilt that I face, but fortunately they don’t seem to be even slightly aware of. They are in LOVE with Margaret. During this entire difficult pregnancy, delivery and recovery not once have they showed anything but complete and utter JOY over adding this new human to our family. I mean, seriously look at those adoring faces! So I don’t know about it being “fair” or if it even matters if it’s fair... but I do know when I look at those smiles they see their new sibling as a gift and a good thing. ♥️ I’m saying NO to the mom guilt. . Side note— how about that phenomenon when you bring home a fresh baby and all your other babies turn into GIANTS?!
