I’m organising all of my ACT eucalypt research. Next step will be to get all the colour information onto my Eucalyptus Dye Database ( the link is in my bio)
These samples are Eucalypts aggregata, Eucalyptus blakelyi, Eucalyptus bridgesiana, Eucalyptus camaldulensis var. camaldulensis and Eucalyptus cinerea subsp. triplex.
I am still collecting stories about the ACT eucalypts and would love to hear from anyone who has one ( please pm if you do)

May Day! (After writing a Remodelista post about an 18th-century-style Scandinavian kitchen, I made this out of today’s finds—tulip petals, dandelions, and cucumber magnolia tree castoffs. It turned out unintentionally Swedish.) #dogwalkdiarynyc #the_green_society #gatheredstyle #theslowdowncollective #curated_nature #collaborationswithnature #flowersfordays #stilllife_photography #artcollector #natureflatlays #slowliving_create #jj_colorlove #dailyart #photoart #ephemeralart
Diatoms are not just beautiful they are incredibly important - providing half of our oxygen. Thought I would do something different and post a series of some of my work that is currently available (via my galleries) for sale. ‘Diatom no.13' - found twigs, seedpods, branchlets and plastic 65x65x8cm framed- from the solo show ‘Macroscope’ 2009. This work is a response to discovering there were micro-plastics within diatoms. Diatoms are microscopic marine plants which have incredibly beautiful silica skeletons. This work is inspired by the form of one such beauty called NAVICULA and constructed from found natural materials and tiny pieces of found beach plastic. I referenced the amazing #ernsthaeckel book “Artforms in Nature” for imagery for this work. #australiansculpture #australianartist #assemblage #naturalfoundmaterials #collaborationswithnature #marineplastics #microplastics #smallthingstellbigstories #invisibleworld #diatom #phytoplankton Go to http://shonawilson.com/artwork/available-work/ to see all available works (link in profile).
Thank you, there are lots of new people visiting my page. This work is part of my Eucalyptus Dye Database. I did the research at The Australian National Botanical Gardens. It documents the colours from the leaves of 230 species and from the bark of 100 on wool, silk and linen. This digital database can be found on my website. The link is in my bio
