AMAZING ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
There are so many words I could use to describe the female body as it supports the growth of a baby.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Your body goes through some PHENOMENAL changes during this time. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Ligaments become more flexible.⠀⠀
Joints support more pressure. ⠀⠀
Muscles stretch and tighten to maintain balance.⠀⠀
Posture changes challenging our spine and pelvis.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It's no wonder that when our function isn't too great, we can often see pain and discomfort. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
So many women are told that this is NORMAL and not to worry, 'it will go away when baby arrives'. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
But there is just SO much you can do to help. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Make sure to keep an eye on our upcoming workshops that demonstrate evidence based up to date information to have all our mamas-to-be feeling wonderful during pregnancy. ⠀⠀

A kiss on the upper back is not a technique in The Birth Deck, but it's as good as any This mama is WORKING and her partner is there for it ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

#sopregnant but trying to soak in these last few weeks of having baby boy in my belly before he makes his grand entrance into the world #ad // I’ve been using the @bloom.life contraction tracker to help me monitor my Braxton Hicks (they suck) so that I know what is and isn’t a false alarm. You just stick this lil’ monitor right to your belly, hook up your Bloomlife app and record your session to have a better understanding on what’s actually going on in your body. The moment I experienced the sacred transformation from maiden to matriarch. 2 years ago today, I was reborn. And I have my sweet, intelligent, amazing daughter to thank for it all. My labor and birth at home was fast and intense, and it taught me so much. It gave me the confidence I needed as I entered motherhood, and I didn't know the full range of my strength prior to then. But our babies don't just open us up physically - we are forced open emotionally, mentally, instinctively, and spiritually as well. Ida has taught me more than she may ever know, and she's connected me to a part of myself I didn't know was there. I will never be perfect, but I'm always trying to be better for her. Happy birthday to my precious angel.
3rd time around anxiously counting down the days until labor begins and we get to meet this sweet boy that we have been waiting for... ✨✨✨
My first time around, I had no idea what to expect with labor. I was a little scared and pretty confused on what contractions might actually feel like. Even after my water broke and I was in labor at the hospital I had a hard time keeping track of my contractions in a consistent manner throughout my 30 hour labor. The second time around I was a little more experienced so I was able to decipher my actual contractions, but still with everything going, and the speed of things I had a hard time counting time the time inbetween. This time around I have been experiencing Braxton Hicks for the first time, and keeping track of all those those “practice” contractions can make a Mama wonder, I’m I actually in labor? With everything going on with the girls and activities and prepping for baby, my @bloom.life has been giving me so much piece of mind in keeping track of baby and contractions and it’s so easy to use through the app! Transformation into motherhood. 4 weeks ago I gave birth to a little ninja warrior baby girl. Here’s some really blurry but beautiful footage of me during active labor. You can hear me tell my mom/ husband “I hate to break it to you, but we’re not sleeping tonight.” The pain is indescribable. On one of these clips you can see I’m crying & Johnny is sitting behind me, not touching me.....that’s because I told him not to touch me lol. I was in such excruciating pain that I didn’t even want the AIR to touch me. I loved this pain, because THIS pain is worth everything. I’d do it again to keep meeting aika for the “first time” over and over again if I could. When she looked into my eyes, I swear I touched heaven with my very fingertips ✨
To my husband....thank you for being my rock. You held me together when I thought I couldn’t get through this. I ❤️ U
And thanks mommy for capturing these moments and being there for me the entire time, I couldn't have survived this without my mama. I'm so happy you got to see your granddaughter come into this world!

Labor and delivery is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. Even though this was my fifth time, it doesn’t make the pain any less.
:
Having a natural birth is something I personal strive to do every time I have a baby. Thankfully, I have been able to have natural births the five times I have given birth.
:
Often the labor and delivery is about the mom and baby but I also am so glad to have a fantastic support team while I’m in labor.
:
Ryan is so hands on when I’m in labor. He knows what to expect and knows how to help relieve some of the pain. I unfortunately have had back labor all five times I have been in labor. I have zero pain in my stomach and all of the pain is in my lower back. One of the things that helps with the pain is having Ryan massage my back during a contraction. He knows when I’m getting ready to have a contraction and puts pressure on my back.
:
I have needed to be induced the last three pregnancies. With Ingrid, she was measuring 6 weeks behind and after an ultrasound, her head circumference below 9% and they were afraid my placenta might be giving out. Her labor contractions were the hardest because I needed pit the whole entire time. I almost thought I might not make it but thankfully at my breaking point, I was ready to deliver.
:
My BP ran high towards the end with Hayes and this time also. Breaking my water sent me into labor both times. My labor with them, I felt more in control. I focused on each contractions helping us move closer to the end. I embraced them instead of fighting them. My Dr. broke my water at 1:30 and I delivered Gretchen at 3:48. The contractions started soon after he broke my water and were every minute, lasting about 35-40 seconds each. Our Dr. came over at 3:40 and helped me get from an 8 to a 10 by doing small pushes.
:
I am grateful for a husband who is hands on during the whole process. My mom has been in every time as well as my sister, sister in law and this time one of my close friends. Having a good support system helps the process. I’m also thankful for nurses who help you stick to your birth plan and a Dr. who is hands on and does what you want to do during labor and delivery.
