OPTIMAL FETAL POSITIONING • Swimming during the last trimester of pregnancy is such a brilliant weekly exercise to do and can really help baby get into an optimal position for birth. ⁣ ⁣ Breaststroke is great for getting into a weightless all fours position, helping baby’s back swing around to your front with the help of gravity. Opening your pelvis and legs with every kick, allows room for baby to move down and engage into your pelvis. ⁣ ⁣ I loved swimming during pregnancy, the water soothed any aches or pains and helped me to relax. Perfect for those last few weeks of maternity leave, when you’re eagerly waiting for baby. I remember taking a long swim the day before I went into labour with my first baby, followed by a marathon nap!! ⁣ ⁣ When your baby is in a good position for birth, it can help to make your labour easier and shorter. Swimming helps to build up your strength and relaxes you, releasing all those feel good hormones and helping you to practice getting into a hypnotic state of mind which is perfect for birth ✨‍♀️ ⁣

Drink milk. Pass out. Repeat. ♥︎ Okay real talk: the past few days have been pretty rough. My post c section recovery was going so well and then last week I started feeling an intense pain on one part of my incision. Pain meds weren’t helping so we went back to the ER leaving Eloise at home with Andrew’s mom + sis. We were at the hospital all night getting ultrasounds and CT scans to see what was wrong. It was awful being away from Elle for an entire night when she’s still this young. ♥︎ Good news: nothing is wrong. They couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. No infection. No internal tears. Nothing. Which is comforting to know while also being so so frustrating because I’m like, “Then why am I all of the sudden in excruciating pain?” The doctors just chalked it up to me not taking enough of my pain meds. Which I hope they’re right. It’s just so weird to me that my recovery was normal for 2 weeks and then all of the sudden it hurts like hell. (Any other c section moms experience this) Either way the last few days have been spent completely in bed because it hurts too much to move. ♥︎ The literal only thing I can do is feed her because I have to. And it’s such a discouraging feeling not being able to fully take care of my little one. Andrew has been such a rock and support these past few weeks though. ♥︎ I promise once I feel better I’ll get around to sharing our birth story on the blog. But honestly this is exactly why I initially chose a home birth. To avoid literally what I’m going through. But I know God is faithful and He’s with me, even when I feel weak. He’s been teaching me so much over the last few weeks. I’m learning to rely on Him 100% and trust Him when things are hard and they don’t make sense. If you guys could please be praying for my incision to heal quickly + fully and the pain to go away we would be so thankful. ❤️ ♥︎ If you feel discouraged or are going through a hard time too... know that God’s got you. ⛅️ Our morning ritual for the past few months has been getting up & watering the plants together. I was determined to continue the routine after baby brother was born so the two of us could have one on one that time together. ‍ ⠀ After a few weeks of explaining to her that these are blueberries & showing her we can pick them, she took it upon herself today to walk over to the bushes & start chowing down. ⠀ Love having my little garden partner. ‍♀️‍

and just like that, nothing is the same. mason everett, you are a gift straight from heaven. eight pounds and three ounces, twenty and a half inches. he joined us so beautifully & peacefully on sunday morning. we are in awe! thank you jesus ❤️
