On the subject of why Kyle & I work as a team....this is my face when I have to leave my kids at swim lessons with a babysitter to go catch a baby. ‍♀️ I got a call this mom was crowning & I knew I wouldn’t make it so having Kyle to call was huge! I knew she would arrive a few minutes before me and together we were able to support this couple through a crazy fast delivery! Millicent is now just over 5 months old. My body has gone through so many changes in the last year, I have a totally new body! I’m so feeling this right now. Society seems to rush us at every moment we don’t set the proper boundaries. Having a young baby truly teaches you how to slow down and become acutely aware of where the rushing pressures of society arise. There’s the “rush” to get induced into labor, there’s the “rush” to move the stages through the labor, there’s a rush to cut the umbilical cord (which we didn’t, we did a #lotusbirth ), there’s the rush to even name our sweet little angel that comes from all directions. While it’s all coming from loving intentions, the rush is real, and we mamas and papas must make a stand to slow it all down and be like nature. On your due date... As I sit here and think about how much I would've loved you. How big my belly would've been now and how I would have felt the first time I held you in my arms, I can't help but feel gratitude for you. ⁣ ⁣ You gave us 3 months of pure joy. From telling your dad about you, to hearing your heartbeat and making your grandparents, aunts and uncles so so happy. ⁣ ⁣ Not to mention our memories of the weird ass food I was craving which make your dad and I laugh. Living off of saltines, pickles and lucky charms. Who does that?! ‍♀️⁣ ⁣ I may not have you here with me, but you have made such an impact on my life. ⁣ ⁣ You've led me closer to God⁣ You've given my life purpose ⁣ You've allowed me to touch the lives of many people which I know and those I do not⁣ You have tore me open and challenged me to my core⁣ You've made my relationship with your father so much stronger & deeper ⁣ ⁣ And for these reasons baby girl, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
