We have been working towards this goal for the last few years! I’m so so so proud of my husband these last few months have been exhausting and I know these next few months to follow will be challenging also! Despite the unsupportive people we’ve come across we haven’t cared... sometimes in order to get where you wanna be you have to do things you don’t wanna do. GROWTH NEVER happens when your in your comfort zone. Doing this academy was so damn hard on both of us but hey he did it ! We’ve had to sacrifice a lot, we had to live with my mother in law (which has been a huge blessing), we’ve had to drop to only my income... We’ve had a lot of challenges along the way all of which have been fully worth it! You will make one excellent police officer I love you so much and I’m so so so proud of you! I’m obsessed with being your wife #copwife #proudwife

Each and every time I hear siren-whether from a patrol car, fire truck, or ambulance-I’m thankful for our first responders. Keep them in your prayers!

⚠️ READ BEFORE COMMENTING! ⚠️ • I know exactly how this post looks, and how it might be taken wrong, so let me start by saying this is NOT a post meant to belittle or bash husbands; on the contrary I am SO grateful for the hard work my man puts in to provide for our family! (And I’m sure you feel the same way about yours!) Actually, this post is hopefully to bring awareness to something...So please read on • People often look forward to the weekend, to their day(s) off as a time to relax and unwind. But when was the last time you took a day off from your mom job? Because yes, momming is a job, and you SHOULD get a break, but so often we just grind away and those days “off” are few and far between. Recently my husband has actually been pushing me to take a night off! Tuesday is now MY night, I get to go out, do what I want, for as long as I want, and God bless him he doesn’t call, text, or ask me to come home for bed time kisses. Lol he ENCOURAGES me to get out and pursue my hobbies and take some time to myself. It has literally been AMAZING and so refreshing for me! I didn’t realize how badly I needed a day off until we started this regularly scheduled night. Now I look forward to it as a brief, yet wonderful time, to refresh myself body, soul, and spirit. While I love being a mom and wouldn’t have it any other way it can be an all-consuming job; but it is not my identity. • How about you? Do you have a day or night off? Do you take regular time to yourself? How do you look at motherhood; as a job or an identity? I know people will have differing opinions on this topic and that’s okay! I’ve just realized that there are a lot of women like me out there, who need/want a break but don’t feel they have the permission to step outside the “mom” box. But girl, if you need it, do it! You’ll be a happier mama for it and that’s good for everyone!

I’m so thankful for all of the officers and first responders (including mine!) that are working today. I am thankful for all of their families, who sacrifice their holiday so that their dad/mom/husband/wife can go out and serve their community. And most of all I am thankful for the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made so many years ago for all of us ⁣ ⁣ Happy Easter! He is risen!

Today is National Thank A Police Officer Day sooo I’m thanking my police sergeant husband and the cutest partner ever Hannah, for keeping him + our city safe from bombs! (That’s her speciality but I must add that she is totally da bomb... ‍♀️... except my hubby hates that I treat her like our family pet and not the police dog she is! LOL) ⁣ ⁣ So grateful for ALL of our first responders and I try to thank them every opportunity I can; I don’t think it’s a coincident that today’s national holiday falls during the week of 9/11 where so many brave men and women in blue ran towards those towers to help. ⁣ ⁣ Happy weekend! In our home, blue marriage means an abundance of patience and understanding, showing kindness to each other every day, lots and lots of love, and always supporting that thin blue line-even when (and especially when) it’s tough

I’ve always loved the book of Psalms and the messages it shares, and there’s a few parts that really stick out to me as a LEOW. In Psalm 18, David is being beaten by Saul-I mean, really beaten- but the Lord “draws him out of deep waters” and rescues him from “the cords of death that entangled him”.⁣ ⁣ You might be wondering why I’m talking about evil and frightening situations-that stuff is scary, and not exactly something that we like to talk about. But the reality is our officers face peril. They are put in dangerous situations. That’s just how it is. They have a dangerous job, one that is especially trying in this day and age of anti-police culture. And I used to get really stressed out about it. I still do. But I’ve realized that there’s a few things protecting my officer that make it easier not to worry as much.⁣ ⁣ First, he is well trained. All of those months at academy, all of those hours at training, all of those bullets spent at the range, all of that stuff that sits on his duty belt-those things are all about preparing our officers to do their job, and do their job well. I also have faith in my officer’s coworkers. I trust that his department is set up to take care of business, and provide its officers with the tools they need to do their job as safety as possible. And I trust that God has His hand on my officer at all times. Does this mean that nothing bad can happen to him? No. I wish that were the case, but it’s not. But I do know that my officer will do everything in his power to do his job well and to come home to me at night, and I know that the Lord is watching over both of us, and has our story written out for us already. Our officers have been called to do a hard job, a dangerous job, a thankless job, but they have not been called to it without preparation and protection.⁣ ⁣ For the rest of this devo, including scripture and prayer, visit ammoandgrace.com
