This harsh reality is unfathomable to most mothers like myself, but very real for those in Winneba who are promised compensation and the guise of a better life for their children. As a girl slave, Innocence wouldn't be able to work in the fishing boats; instead, she would be forced to “serve” as many as three men per night. She could be sold for as little as 18 dollars.

Kemarin Krakatau Bandar Samudra (KBS) @cigadingport melakukan kegiatan "Bersihkan, Rapihkan, Hijaukan dan Lariskan Pasar Tradisional" dalam rangka Voluntary Hours bersama direksi dan karyawan KBS. Acara ini merupakan salah satu kegiatan CSR perusahaan di HUT KBS yg ke-23 berlokasi di Pasar Cigading. Unpaid Ad // SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY Als ich mich zuerst mit dem Thema Nachhaltigkeit und fairen Arbeitsbedingungen beschäftigt habe; geschah das eher unfreiwillig. Es war ungefähr 2015, ich saß an einer Seminararbeit zum Thema Global Sourcing und Corporate Social Responsibilty und landete natürlich schnell beim Kollaps des Rana Plaza in Bangladesh. Bei der weiteren Recherche kam ich gehörig vom Thema ab (weniger effektiv), beschäftigte mich aber mit den Folgen dessen (sehr interessant - und vor allem belastend). Ich kann nicht - wie manch andere - sagen, dass seitdem alles fair und nachhaltig in meinem Kleiderschrank ist, aber es hat sich rückblickend doch eine Menge getan. Auch beruflich bedingt interessiert mich bei Fair Fashion der Produktionsprozess und es hat mir Spaß gemacht, im Rahmen dieser Kooperation etwas mehr über @funktionschnitt und ihre Fertigung in Portugal zu erfahren. Ich weiß, dass das Thema Fair Fashion gern kontrovers diskutiert wird, aber das Umdenken einer Branche zu beobachten, finde ich persönlich spannend. Und das geht meiner Meinung nach, auch ohne andere zu missionieren. #funktionschnitt Das Foto entstand nachdem ich bereits einen frühlingshaften Tag mit „Mako“ in Düsseldorf verbracht habe - also den Livetest hat es bestanden!
