Do you have a lot of hair, and want to make sure it stays how it supposed to, under you wig, without any bumps? Just wear two wig capes to make sure your hair stay in place, and to make sure you don't have any weird bumps. If you want to have it extra secure, wear MANY bobby pins. But be careful with wearing them both on top of each other! Make sure the elastics aren't on top of each other!! ------------------------------------ Tags: #cosplay #cosplaytips #cosplaytricks #cosplaytipsandtricks #cosplayer #cosplaygirl #dutchcosplayer #cosplaybeginner #cosplayhelp #cosplayhacks

Edit: it is tip #33 , not 32. Also I'm sorry the quality is so low. Today's tip: When tracing a pattern, attach two pencils together with a rubber band. Trace your pattern with the inner pencil, and the outer one will automatically make a seam allowance. --------------------------------------------------------- Tags: #cosplay #cosplaytips #cosplaytricks #cosplayer #dutchcosplayer #cosplaygirl #cosplaybeginner #cosplayhelp #cosplayhacks #patterns #tracingpatterns

Here is the promised bootcover tutorial. --------------------------------------------- What you need: • scissors • needle and threat/ sewing machine • pins to pin your fabric • your fabric(preferably something stretchy) • If your fabric isn't stretchy: a zipper • your boots • How to do it: 1. For exact fit: put your boots on. Place a piece of fabric on both sides, and pin it together. (Like in the picture but the boot is on your foot.) Alternative way: Lay your boot on the fabric. Put something like a pool noodle in it so it doesn't sag in. Put another piece of fabric over the boot. Pin it together. 2. Carefully pull the boot and your foot out of the pinned fabric. 3. Fix any ripples in the fabric so it lays flat. 4. Sew a stretch seam along the pins. Leave the top and the hole where the heel will poke through open. 5. Cut of the extra fabric. 6. Try on your bootcover. Make any necessary changes or fixes. Note: if your fabric isn't stretchy, then prepare the back seam of the boot for a zipper. -------------------------------------------------------- Tags: #cosplay #cosplaytips #cosplaytricks #cosplayer #cosplaygirl #dutchcosplayer #cosplaybeginner #cosplayhelp #cosplayhelp #cosplayhacks #cosplaybeginner #cosplay101 #bootcovers

Edit: when I was editting the text on the picture, I wrote 'another' , because I was sure I already made one. But after posting I checked, and saw that I never did. I'm a bit confused about that, but hey, I wil just post that one another time. -------------- I once made a post on how to make bootcovers. This is a slightly different way to make (superhero) boots. -------- What you need: • cling wrap • tape • scissors • the fabric you want to make your boots with • old shoes • How to do it: 1. Wrap your leg in cling wrap and tape. Do it the same way as you would do for arm wraps. 2. Cut the tape of. You'll have the right side, left side and under site of your foot/leg. 3. Place the template on your fabric. Trace it and cut it out. 4. Sew the boot 5. Cut out the undersite of an old shoe. Make sure it isn't bigger then your foot. Glue it to the undersite of your boot. 6. Do this for boot feet. And you're done! Your very own superhero boots. ------------------------------------------ Tags: #cosplay #cosplaytips #cosplaytricks #cosplayer #dutchcosplayer #cosplaygirl #cosplaybeginner #cosplayhelp #cosplayhacks #boots #superheroboots

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay, we will post yesterday’s and today’s post today! This post is about portfolios! Portfolios are typically for made cosplays. What is a portfolio? A portfolio is a book/folder you bring with you to prejudging in cosplay competitions, that includes reference photos of your character, and if it’s a made cosplay it’ll also contain your progress photos and a list of materials you used. Portfolios can be really helpful to help show judges that you really did make your cosplay, and what processes you went through to do so. Also if your character is not well known, this can help give the judges an idea of how accurate you are to your character. Portfolios can help win the judges over, help remind you if there’s any pieces of your cosplay you’re forgetting to mention, and also makes you look very professional. How to make one: We typically use a file folder, and slip our images into the pockets. You should have a cover page with reference images, your name, and your cosplay character’s name. The next page can be more reference photos if you have more, but if not start listing your materials and mediums used on this page. I typically also list all of the pieces of my cosplay that were made and bought. Allison likes to include fabric swatches as well. Next should be all of your progress photos. Include all of your photos you took as you made your cosplay, especially if they show the beginning steps to your pieces! Tip: try not to include finished images of your cosplay. You don’t want to include everything, that way the judges have to look at your cosplay to see the finished pieces! I hope this was helpful, and comment if you have questions! Later today will be wrapping up our competitive cosplay segment with all of the tips we haven’t mentioned yet!
