A Greyhound bus ride later we have arrived to West Palm Beach. Our visit started with registration at the Convention Center, meeting some Swedish friends who also attending the event, checking in at our Airbnb place and me getting denied to buy a Corona because I’ve forgot my ID. ‍♀️ I refuse to see it in any other way then that I still look like twenty. But if I had to give you one piece, it is this...take full responsibility for the quality of your life. • If you aren't happy, change it. If you are depressed, change it. We are soooo much more capable than the limits we keep setting on ourselves, myself included. Everytime you say: "I can't help it" or "I can't change", you're only reinforcing a self-fulfilling prophecy for how your life will be. But it's just an old habit, not a fact. • We unfortunately live in a culture that discourages personal responsibility. It encourages blaming others than taking responsibility for how we feel. It encourages demonizing other parties than recognizing each other's humanity. It's no wonder why so many people are depressed: we encourage people to give their personal power away to something outside of themselves! • Will people commit harmful acts? Yes. But do we also have the ability to say we won't let these acts dictate our future? Yes! We can in fact use our past traumas as a means to push us forward and provide for a greater good. • What if we changed the meanings we gave to our past traumas? What if we could see every problem as a gift that could help us grow? What if we created more empowering meanings to move us forward rather than ones which keep us stuck in the past? The existentialists knew this well! • This week 5,000 people from 87 countries came together for 6 days and over 75 hours to learn these valuable lessons. We didn't just learn them; we saw them up close and personal within ourselves and each other. We experienced a closeness and celebration among each other most won't experience in their lifetime. We didn't attend a concert; WE were the concert. We were no longer separate from each other; we were One. • It was a privilege attending with so many beautiful souls! I love you. I'm sorry.
