F*ck being stuck on auto-pilot. Life really begins when we get off automatic and start choosing our path consciously. .
It's so easy to for us to get stuck in our heads and to feel swept along by life forgetting that we are truly the creators of our own reality. We have the option to more consciously choose our actions which leads to more supportive thoughts and emotions but it means we need to switch from feeling life simply happens to us and start creating the life we want to lead. .
This of course ia a habit that takes lots of practice to begin to change and that practice is no doubt life long but if we work at it we can become more and more present and really soak up all the juicy beautiful details and feelings life has to offer. .
A great workout is one of my favourite ways to practice this. If I go on auto pilot, I don't work my muscles nearly as hard, I don't truly feel my body, I end up forgetting where I am in the movement, losing count etc. The workout loses so much potential value - it is still good for my body but not as connected, as deep, and doesn't go beyond the physical to mental, emotional, spiritual strength building too. But when I choose to practice and become a conscious creator of my movements, I can really tune into my body, feel everything work, feel the endorphins give me a lift, connect deeply, and create a mindset that encourages and cheers me on. The choice is always there. We just have to take it. .
This is a great ab and arm series to practice with. 3 rounds, 10 reps: plank to push-up, shoulder taps, to leg taps. Really squeeze that core! Your shoulders will be shaking by the end.
This 10-1 workout is an awesome full-body way to push yourself body and mind. .
We have three exercises, weighted squat, push-up and v-ups. The first round is 10 reps of each, the 2nd round 9 reps, then 8, all the way down to 1. [Scales: no weight for the squat, push-up from your knees, and shoots-ups instead of v-ups.] .
There's a great burn that comes half way through but the beauty is you know each round is getting a little shorter so you can make it! .

A workout like this is a great way to prove to yourself you can make it! Since each round gets a little easier but the challenge is real, it helps build fortitude and is a great way to believe in yourself! .
I was personally dying from the push-ups and thought I may have to move to my knees but kept telling myself to try just one more round full push-up and ended up making it the whole way! Thats the great thing about fitness - you get to consistently prove your perceived limitations wrong and if you do move to a scale you get to practice being kind with yourself! Fitness is such a great teacher ❤ what kind of lessons does fitness teach you?
