It is definitely difficult making time for things you really want to do. Between work, chores, family responsibilities and errands, it becomes hard to make space for activities that make us happy like attending a yoga class, signing up for a course we are interested in or taking on a new project!
You want some strategies that might help you with that?
1- Stop making excuses and take ownership
2- Identify your goal and cut it down into sub goals; goals that are specific and measurable
3- Start with minor steps. don't go all "black or white" on this. Just start with taking a small initiative and let the dice roll naturally
4- Think of it as a 'Priority'. Mark it on your calendar
5- Delegate few things to people you trust. You don't have to micromanage everything
6- When you feel like backing out on this, create an advantage/disadvantage balance sheet to remind yourself why this new thing is good for you on the long run
7- Stop and look at your progress every once in a while
8- Remind yourself that not everything has to be controlled. Let go of what you can't
9- Do not allow others to minimize your work or trigger guilt for taking time for yourself
