Here is a really cute hornpipe written by Shannon Heaton called the "Nor'easter Hornpipe." It's a longer tune that tells a story with its pretty melody. It's one of the first tunes I learned when I picked up my violin again after I had taken a 5 year hiatus. I think it's a super pretty modern tune, but I rarely hear it played... For those not familiar with "nor'easters," they are usually the most severe storms to hit the USA's East Coast during the winter months. Similar to the "bomb cyclones" we saw this year, they are kind of like cold-core hurricanes that do not originate in warm water like regular hurricanes.
