Hi! I’m Maggie from @stitchingartstudio. I am a self-taught embroidery artist. After studying fiber arts in college, my art took a slow path through different textiles, playing with books and papers, dyeing, knitting, and eventually landed (at least for the moment) at hand embroidery! I love learning this beautiful art by pouring over the art of other amazing artists, hours on YouTube, walking in nature, and so much trial and error! My favorite subjects include wildflower studies and working with brides to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes by having their bouquets hand embroidered! I’ve also started creating my own unique patterns. Art for me is a never ending learning experience and I'm looking forward to the next new challenge! . Felt like stitching a chubby little rose this morning so here’s a video of it! You can use 12 strands of thread to make your roses extra thicc. I use six strands of DMC thread doubled over to get the 12 strands I used here. I finished this rose up by fluffing it up and stitching in some little french knots.

Let me know if there are other stitches or things you’d like me to make tutorials for! I feel like I keep doing the same ones over and over again.

This is one of my favorite floral hoops I’ve ever made. I originally designed it for a class, but it would take much longer to complete than a class would accommodate.
