So I decided to sit with him and read “Love you Forever” which was one of my favorites growing up. All the nostalgic feelings right now what is a favorite book of yours to read to your little ones ?

2017 was both my best and hardest year yet. We announced we were having a baby boy. We worked. We worked REALLY hard. We vacationed. We spent time together, just the two of us, before becoming a family of 3. We prepared. We prepared our lives for our newest addition, from every square inch of our home, to a nursery, to the finances, right down to getting Jake ready for baby brother's arrival. What we were not prepared for was a delivery of a premature baby and a 2 month stay in the NICU. Our hearts were broken watching our baby have chest, feeding, and oxygen tubes placed when we should have been sharing our first cuddles and smothering him in kisses. We prayed. We prayed for his health and our strength. We learned. Bryan and I learned a lot about one another over those 2 months. We learned to be strong when the other was weak. We learned to count our blessings, both big and small. We learned a new appreciation for our family and friends, our rock, our support system. The day Bennett was born was the best day of my life, because it was the day I became a Mom. But the day we brought him home, to start a new chapter in our lives, was easily the second best. God doesn't give the hardest battles to his toughest soldiers, He creates the toughest soldiers through life's hardest battles. Thank you, 2017, for turning us into not only parents, but the toughest soldiers we can be. Ellis making big progress and working toward sitting up on his own! he’s really great about holding his weight, we are just mainly working on balance right now but every day he goes a little longer unsupported! Prayers always appreciated on his journey

-Ellis update- • Ellis had a pretty good night last night. Today they began giving him a little bit of Pedialyte because they wanted to give his belly a rest yesterday. He seems to be tolerating the Pedialyte OK and he has not had a fever since yesterday. They did decide to go ahead and keep him again tonight just to monitor his feeds, and to make sure he tolerates them. They also want to make sure that he does not spike anymore fevers. If you could please pray in faith that he meets all of these goals so that he can go home also please fervent prayers that the rest of our household stays healthy so that we don’t have anymore hospital trips thank you also so much for your comments and for your sweet messages!
