Nasomatto Absinth. This is fantastic, the best wormwood based scent in my opinion. It's sweet yet bitter, dry yet moist, gourmand yet herbal. A masterpiece in perfumery, almost like an extension of your natural odour. The vetiver adds an earthy vibe to the composition and it's perfectly matched with the aromatic accords of wormwood. Just as winter marks the beginning of wattle’s fluffy, golden-hued and nose-ticklingly fragrant blossoming, Velvet Splendour joins my collection with Australia’s native species of mimosa at its sumptuous floral-oriental heart. A sparkling composition of orange blossom, jasmin sambac, sandalwood, tonka and soft leather swathed in a veil of abundantly honeyed, vaguely green and slightly spiced Silver Wattle absolute, Velvet Splendour gives a nod to the grande dame ‘80s orientals of Coco and Opium ilk while simultaneously showcasing a uniquely Australiana take on mimosa. Move over Blue Cypress, I’ve got a new favourite from Goldfield & Banks.

Despite an utterly brilliant flash of photorealistic lavender in its opening minutes, Tom Ford’s Lavender Extrême isn’t much of a lavender fragrance. What it is, is a beautiful study in tonka. Past the short-lived geranium nuanced lavender opening, Lavender Extrême’s development sees tonka’s sweet, vanilla-like coumarin character slowly morph into something warmer, more sensuous as cinnamon smoulders against the now almondy tonka bean. Personally, I feel the name does the fragrance a disservice; it’s going to put off those that don’t like lavender and will draw criticism from those that do for the brevity of its eponymous note. Even so, I confess to being a big fan of Lavender Extrême, and not just because it is so beautifully bottled!

Such a long time since I wore this 2011 release by YSL. This is a modern interpretation of a CLASSIC MEN'S COLOGNE. Very fresh, pleasant and safe, I think you will never bother anyone with this Cologne because, is a light and it doesn't project much, or I just say is close to the skin, in fact that's its weakness because scent wise is a great creation IMO. I love the scent, therefore, I always try to see the bright side and wear it at most appropriate scenarios, office etc. Have you tried this fragrance? Invictus Legend by Paco Rabanne is a sweet and unsophisticated modern fragrance which reminds me of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit chewing gum. That happens to be my favourite chewing gum flavour but does not translate very agreeably to the realm a masculine perfumery. Notes: grapefruit, sea salt, sea notes, geranium, bay leaf, spices, guaiac wood, red amber. The piercing synthetic squeal of the original Invictus is replaced by an equally artificial gourmand accord that combines with fruity candy notes in a scent that does little to distinguish itself from countless other similar concoctions on the designer fragrance shelves.
