To anyone with newborns this suit is AMAZING! We were having trouble transferring Kelvin to his bassinet without him waking up. I would have no problem getting him to sleep while I was holding him, but he would wake up the moment I put him in his bassinet. Someone then recommended we try the Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit and it was a game changer! The suit is so fluffy and puffy he doesn’t wake during the transfer and it keeps him comfy and cozy without having to put a blanket in with him (as people warn extra blankets in the bassinet can be a choking hazard early on). So now he sleeps for long stints of time in his bassinet and I am finally getting some serious sleep in! Woohoo! Tonight this mumma is going out OUT! . Without the little people, just me & some girl friends. There will be no small people present. Not a single one No ‘mum mum mum’ in my ear. OMG absolute heaven! . It doesn’t happen often so I’m super excited & looking forward to it just to have some grown up time will be amazing! . Zahria has been an absolute legend with her sleep this week. I can’t believe my luck actually. Usually I’m so tired I can never be arsed to get myself ready for a night out let alone go anywhere. But this week I’m so ready for this . Some parents struggle with going out. It’s not always that easy. Some just don’t have the childcare & some don’t like to leave the little people . Tales of a Restless Sleeper • Part 3: CPAP City • Again, I have not been thrilled about using a CPAP for the rest of my life because to be honest, I’m 30. THIRTY!!! My patients have CPAPs, not people my age... It just didn’t seem right. Before the appointment for my CPAP, I went to the dentist for a cleaning and found that my apnea was actually wearing away at my teeth! Like what?! Ohh yes, this is a real thing. I’m not a dentist or a doctor for that matter, but apparently when you have the instances of apnea, it leaves you gasping for air and bringing up acid when you do finally breathe. That acid can then wear away at your teeth. • I FINALLY got my CPAP almost two weeks ago and it has been rough to say the least. The nasal pillow mask has been wildly uncomfortable and has been an extreme irritant for my nose. The past couple days have been better and I immediately started using a saline/gel to help calm the irritation. The first night I worked so hard to keep the mask on all night and I made it 8 hours BUT it was miserable and I woke up a ton getting tangled in the tubing and just flat out being uncomfortable! • I decided I needed to cut myself some slack with the mask because I think it’s unrealistic to be able to wear it all night when you’ve never done it before. The next couple of nights I wore it for increments of 4.5 to 7.5hours. If I woke up and couldn’t fall back to sleep, I’d just take it off. These new devices are crazy with their technology because they come with an app that I downloaded and each morning the machine can connect by Bluetooth to download my sleep data to my phone. It also uses cellphone towers to call my data in to my respiratory therapist each morning, so that if I ever have issues with my mask or machine, she has access to all of my data! • The 4th and FINAL post about our overall transition is coming up tomorrow!
