Repent. A word that gets a bad rap. A lot of times we turn to uplifting people, IG accounts, and friends to tell us all is going to be okay. That God loves us no matter what we’ve done and just to allow time to heal our wounds. And while those things are true we can’t forget the importance of repentance in both freeing our heart from anguish and drawing closer to God. Think of it this way, if your kid broke your rules; say hit you, cussed at you, or told you they didn’t need you, you’d be upset. Eventually, yes you’d forgive them, and you will still love them, but how much quicker will the healing between you both begin if they apologize. Mommy, I’m sorry, I know what I did was wrong, I know we all make mistakes and I can’t promise I won’t make them again but I’m going to try my hardest and from the bottom of my heart I don’t want us to be upset with each other and I want my heart to feel good again. This is what God wants from us. Yes He forgives, and Jesus died on the cross for these very sins but to use that as a crutch all the while continuing to sin and never saying your truly sorry, misses a hugely important aspect of Christianity and what the gospel tells us. What can you ask God to forgive you for today? Begin healing your heart and mending the strained relationship you have with Him.

We made the outer loop at Dinosaur Valley State Park this morning. It was long (over 9 miles) and tiring, up and down hills, and not sure why, the temperature went down to mid 50s and windy (it felt in the lower 40s). So, yeah, it was cold. I forgot to bring my jacket. Fortunately, one of the lady had an extra jacket in her car. Size XS, but it helped keeping my arms warm. I’m glad I found this group of women hikers #outdoorconnectiondfw. They are very active, there’s always hiking trip every week (sometimes 2), and they even go backpacking. Not just around Dallas/Ft. Worth, but as far as Texas Hill Country, East Texas, and West Texas. Historic Glen Rose square isn’t big, but businesses around it decorated themselves beautifully. I visited in the afternoon while my son was in school.
