#TBT to the one time we witnessed this natural phenomenon in Iceland...
Driving through Akureryi at sunset we spotted rare #nacreous clouds and watched as they faded away into the night sky...
Our next destination was Hvitserkur for some night photos (hoping to get aurora, but got something much greater). We were blown away to see these rainbow nacreous clouds not only still in the sky, but right over the rock
The supermoon was rising right behind it lighting up the clouds, and casting the rock as a silhoutte. Possibly a once in a lifetime photo

За мою фотографию спасибо @anastasia_borisoglebskaya #гречаовцы3палатки #iznanka_in_love_with_iceland

Raten bitte: An was erinnert Euch dieser Felsen?
Und, was meint Ihr? Troll oder Elefant?

The majority of my travel is to host my workshops, during this time my attention is on others and not necessarily about creating new work for myself. On occasion, I’ll allow a day or so to potentially capture something, which was the case here. After close to 40 hours of travel to Iceland, I arrived at 3pm and picked up my hire car before heading 3 hours north into the only part of the country with possibility of clear skies. My hope was to capture the aurora over the Hvitserkur sea stack and arriving just on nightfall, the all familiar glow of the northern lights was right before my eyes as I parked my car. The display last the entire night and after almost a year since my last encounter, it was a comforting and welcomed experience to be in the presence of such majesty yet again.
