Hi friends old and new! I haven’t introduced myself in a while, so here goes. I am Cedar. I read tarot for myself and friends in the forest of Washington. I started reading cards four years ago, but only got deeply invested in my practice last year when I started getting clues from the Universe that I was trying to walk down a path not for me. Since then I have learned to listen to the unseen forces and am feeling more aligned with myself than I ever have. In numerology my life path number is 13/4, represented by death and the emperor in the tarot. Transformation has been a huge theme throughout my life. Last year also was a death card year for me (see Mary Greer’s ‘Who are You in the Tarot?’), and it truly was a year of profound transformation. When I was a child I had psychic premonitions regularly, and last year after getting back in alignment with my soul, they started coming back in full force. There is science now that proves that memory is actually passed down in DNA. They did these studies where they exposed bugs to first a clicking sound and then light. Over and over all their lives. They had a strong reaction to protect their eyes every time they heard the clicking. Then they bred the bugs. They had babies. They kept the babies separate from the parents immediately. Then they exposed the babies to the clicking sound.... they had the same reaction of protecting their eyes from the light even though they were never exposed to the light. The memory of the clicking was passed to them and they had the physical reaction to the trauma without even having the exposure. This is just one of many examples that science is finally beginning to explain. There is other science now showing as to why baby humans are born with an instinctive fear of things like spiders and snakes, again ancestral DNA memory. It’s insane to me, but it makes so much sense and explains so much. If memories are passed down, so is trauma. Human beings have an inexplicable need to reenact unhealed trauma and this is how we find ourselves stuck in traumatizing thought & behavior patterns for our entire lives. We are born with the memory of a pain that we never even experienced. As life triggers the trauma we become acute to the triggers and eventually we manifest situations that re-create the pain that our ancestors, both near & distant, endured. This is why the work of healing is utterly critical. When we heal ourselves we finally break the inherited wheel.
