Big Little Lies - Season 1 Big Little Lies is TV at its finest: it’s well written, captivating, addictive and brilliantly acted! I have seen the entire show four times through, and every time I’m blown away by how incredible it is. This is truly one of the best ensemble casts on TV, and every single one of them is extraordinary. Nicole Kidman is brilliant as Celeste Wright, her portrayal of a wife living through abuse from a monstrous husband is so raw and emotional, it’s tragic to watch but it feels so real. Hands down one of Kidman’s best performances and confirms that she is one of Hollywood’s best actresses today. Reese Witherspoon and Shaliene Woodley are great as Celeste’s two friends and as the other two leads of the show. Laura Dern is a scene stealer as Renata, the craziest mother of them all but who is so rear legs as you see her struggle with her daughter being bullied. The supporting cast of Zoe Kravitz, Adam Scott and Alexander Skarsgård are also all excellent. You will not find a bad performance in this show. The writing is excellent. I never thought a story about mothers and their elementary school children would be so addictive, but this story is great. It’s got laughs, chilling drama that has you hooked for an entire episode and ensures that you start the next one right away. The format in which the story is told is also great, knowing that a murder occurred and witnessing the other parents police interviews describing the events that led to the night of the murder is great as it provides great commentary to what the audience is experiencing. And unlike most shows, the entire season is directed by Jean-Marc Vallée which keeps the tone and style of the show consistent. And if that wasn’t enough, the season has a great soundtrack to accompany all the excellent performances and juicy drama. Overall, the first season of Big Little Lies is as good as television can get as it’s perfect in every way, from it’s incredible cast and brilliant storytelling that you will be hard pressed to find in any other show! 10/10 #BigLittleLies #ReeseWitherspoon #NicoleKidman #ShaileneWoodley #LauraDern #ZoeKravitz #AdamScott #AlexanderSkarsgard #JamesTupper

In short, stereotypes hinder our ability to truly understand those that are different from us. Kleptomaniacs are painted with a particular brush, but this series allows one to see the pain that can at times be embedded within such acts. The vulnerable honesty that this series is willing to showcase is phenomenal, providing a good balance of comedy and drama to fully keep one interested. There are times, however, when moments do lag, but it's not enough to fully pull one from the scenes being presented. Hoy les traigo Big Little Lies, una de las series de HBO que mas se esta hablando en este ultimo tiempo, ya que como leyeron mas arriba, en junio se estrenara la 2da temporada. Esta serie es realmente impecable, cuenta con un elenco INCREIBLE, no creo haber visto una serie con un elenco de tanta altura, y no es algo para pasar por alto, ya que hay momentos en que la serie demanda gran calidad actoral. Sinopsis: Las vidas de un grupo de madres (de la alta sociedad), son sacudidas por un brutal asesinato. En esta comunidad nada es lo que parece, si hay algo que no falta en ella, son secretos. Yo creo que Big Little Lies es una de esas series que casi no falla, o si lo hace la “perdonas” por toda la demás “perfección”. El guion, la dirección, la música, los personajes, la ambientación, las locaciones, la fotografía, puedo seguir enumerando la cantidad de aspectos que sobresalen en esta serie, si te gusta las cosas realmente bien hechas, no dudes en verla. ¡Ah y ni hablar del montaje, pffff no saben lo que es! La historia y sus personajes tienen un condimento especial que te cautiva y te intriga, es una serie que la consumí en 2 o 3 días, cosa que no es muy normal en mi ya que suelo ver 1 capitulo por día con este tipo de series que cada capítulo dura 1 hora. Algo que suele pasar con este tipo de series (con pocos capítulos y su premisa se basa en un misterio) es que el final no termina siendo de la misma altura que los demás, y quiero decirles que este final es perfecto y cierra por todos lados, cosa que me dejo muy contento y con muchas ganas de ver la nueva temporada.
