Taking a day off yesterday had me all fuelled up and energized for my run today ⛽️. I had no plans for today, so when the kids were playing nicely together (which doesn’t always happen ) I decided to keep going. It is a beautiful day today but I chose the treadmill because if I want to run anything over an hour the kids can be entertained for longer periods with their toys and activities in the basement compared to the running stroller. As I reflect back on Bray’s ten years, I am realizing that there is so much emphasis on achieving milestones and celebrating firsts that I missed many endings that I didn’t even know were endings. There was a last time I fed her a bottle. There was a last time she sat in a high chair. There was a last time she asked me to pick her up. I don’t distinctly remember these “lasts” happening as much as I remember all the firsts. But rather than lament these lasts, I will look back fondly on her baby and toddler days, and look forward to a lifetime of more firsts with her as she enters each new stage in life. In the meantime, I’m going to be present and I’m going to live in the moment with all my children, as firsts become lasts and lasts become perfect memories to cherish ❤️ . What is a favourite memory you have of your littles? I will never forget the day I met Bray; I held her in my arms and right away she looked up with those beautiful blue eyes and smiled so sweetly at me - she completely stole my heart!
