Today we want to take a moment to talk about the positives of being in an interracial relationshipA lot of the time when this topic is brought up, it seems to focus on stereotypes or challenges associated with being an interracial couple. So today, we’re going to talk about what we love about it!❤️ . ✨1. We love being different‍♂️‍♀️. We have so many different experiences to talk about and learn. We love learning about each other and learning about each other’s cultural backgrounds as well. It is so incredible to be able to share and listen and connect to one another over what makes us different. . ✨2. We love finding our similarities . From music to pop culture to childhood experiences, it’s exciting to discover the similarities. It’s so fun when we discover that we listened to the same bands/artists growing up, or that we had the same favorite TV show despite coming from different cultural backgrounds. . ✨3. We respect and listen to each other on a different level because we’re interracial ☀️ Because we come from different backgrounds, being in an interracial relationship has made us better listeners, and it also made us better at respecting each other. Our awareness of our different backgrounds makes us more aware of how to treat each other, and how to speak to each other. ✨4. We see the world from a different perspective You appreciate the nuances of diversity and difference so much more when you have such an intimate relationship with someone who can introduce you to different types of food, different cultural practices, and different values. . ✨5. Speaking of food... the food We LOVE food. When we first moved in together we tried all sorts of recipes from African/Creole food to southern food to food that neither of us had ever tried before. Food is one of the most exciting parts of being in an interracial relationship because it is all so dang good! . ✨PS. It’s also fun to see interracial relationships on TV and films because you have an “OMG they’re like us!” moment and that’s hella cute ✨If y’all are in an interracial relationship, what is your favorite part?

✨✨Ariana and I have talked about how recently we’ve been trying to really channel our creativity and artistry into our photos . When we created this account, we didn’t know a single thing about photography ‍♀️‍♀️. We came from creative backgrounds (studio art for me, graphic design for Ariana) but we really had no idea how to express that with photography . It took us a long time (and a lot of experimentation) to teach ourselves how to channel our vision into the photos we take together .
