⚡️Turning 35 today and I hear it’s supposed to be some kind of milestone but I woke up to the same 2 year old crying for nothing, making lunches, doing camp drop off and football practice all while squeezing in work and maybe a lunch with friends. THIS is 35 and I wouldn’t have it any other way. . I do feel like the older I get the more I live for myself which is a nice change because growing up we care so much about what others think. I’m in a place in my life now where I don’t care as much and that is freeing! Eat the pizza weekly, wear the weird clothes, be selfish with my time, say no, say yes, try all the things, go to all the places and be mindful of designing a life I want not defined by others. Happy Monday guys Hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend! I had a really busy one as always ‍♀️ On Saturday we got the train up to Newcastle to celebrate my friends birthday . Saturday trains are always really busy - but the staff at both our and Newcastle station are always happy to help ✅. I always enjoy a day sesh up that way as everyone is always really friendly and super helpful. I think it’s the first time that I’ve actually been out and no one has made the ‘EEEEEE are you drink driving HA HA’ joke... so that’s always a plus The girls all stuck in and helped me with the HUGE banks and hills we decided to tackle (when we were half cut ), so I don’t ever find there to be any massive issues when I go for a day/night out around bars. My friend who was pestering me to buy ponchos (I refused and told her we didnt need them lol) was in fact correct - the heavens did open for a short while... but improvising as always, we made our own ponchos out of bin bags . We got quite a few funny looks but hey, we kept our hair dry ✌‍♀️. Today I have lots of cleaning/decorating to do around the house as I can never just seem to sit still . Morning everyone Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Yesterday was spent with some of my good friends celebrating Lilah’s special day . I always love a good christening as it’s nice to get everyone together who you don’t necessarily see very often. In the part of town that I live it’s a very close knit community, a bit like Eastenders sometimes but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Everyone knows everyone where we live and people will go out of their way to help you. Yesterday’s christening was in an upstairs venue and all my friends clubbed together to carry me up a winding (and narrow) flight of stairs. I was panicking for days before hand stressing about it - but we managed in the end. I won’t mention about getting me back down the stairs again when everyone was half cut a few hours later . Big shoutout to @csmithstagram @jordstewart @kierangibbonss @lewismyers_ and @jackwilliamwood for somehow managing to squeeze us up the stairs. It was like the episode of friends where Ross is shouting ‘PIVOT!!!’ when they are getting the sofa stuck on a flight of stairs I love my friendship group when everyone clubs together and is there for each other. I am truly blessed to have so many caring friends far and wide and I think that plays a massive part in my road to recovery. Everyone likes to comment on how ‘amazing’ I am doing, but I wouldn’t be where I am today without my friends, family and amazing boyfriend Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday whatever you have been up to! Kuala Lumpur was surprising... . . It has these gorgeous towers, some great places to visit (for free-yay), and amazing food. But there were 2 downsides that really outweighed the good for us- it was SUPER smoggy (is that a word? Idk. Let’s roll with it ). When I say super smoggy, I mean our throats hurt almost every day (for 18 days straight). We also felt very off and almost unwelcome in Kuala Lumpur. I’m not saying everyone there is like this, but it wasn’t very pleasant. . .
