So like, I don't talk about this very much but turns out old pictures don't surface by themselves, especially when you work really hard to sink 'em like I do.
But yeah. That's me. That's my #beforeandafter. A little over 10 years ago I began a change and lost 130 lbs. A lot of stuff happened for me around that time (buying a house, coming out), and a lot has happened since (big moves, got married). But recently a friend who didn't know me then said, "you know, I've never seen a photo of you when you were big?"
Yeah, that was intentional. I don't really recognize the guy on the left anymore, but I carry him with me every day. My husband and my friends get to deal with him all the time. Every time I express guilt about enjoying a big meal together. Every time my husband tells me I'm sexy, and sees that I doubt it. It left scars, emotional and physical, and I still torture myself about it pretty much every time I see myself in the mirror or compare myself with the hot guys in my feed.
I love my life, but I think we all have insecurities that darken the horizon sometimes. This is one of mine, and I don't think it's been healthy for me to hide it. With your indulgence, I'll share more about my experience over time, in-between happy pics of my pets and shameless gym selfies with my husband. Maybe it'll help paint a more honest picture of me. Maybe I can help lift up others who have similar struggles. I know they can lift me up, too.

Yesterday marked 10 months since I started this "journey" and the time has flown by, but it also feels like an entirely different life. In the beginning I was too afraid to take pictures of myself, to weigh myself. Fun fact, 335 was our guess after I finally weighed in at 320 halfway through June, I suspect I actually weighed 345! Either way, the biggest change has not been the scale or the reflection, but my relationship with food. I no longer am controlled by it, I no longer need it to cope with my emotions, and I no longer feel guilt over my food choices. That is my greatest victory!

I started July 2018, it is now end of March. It takes time.
There is no easy fix, there is no magic pill. Although a lot of people like to claim there is on here. When I was younger, I didn’t know any better. A lot of people on IG would advertise “fit tea” and other supplements that got them where they desired to be, and I fell for it. Well let me tell you something, I am not going to be that person. Yes I only have 12k followers, I’m not a big Influencer on social media BUT I can still influence. Posting and sharing what I do daily is a responsibility to me. Staying honest, uplifting and staying true to myself. When I post my progress, I get a lot of messages from people trying to get me to advertise their weight loss plans, supplements, drinks... ect... Iv even been offered a job with health benefits... to show off a product I didn’t and wouldn’t use. It honestly makes me really mad, so here is my progress and public post. This is how I lost 30 pounds.
This is not to put anyone down that advertises or does things like keto, paleo, HL, weight watchers or anything I didn’t do, you get the point. You do you boo. Everyone has different things that work for them and that is 100% awesome! This is just me making a public statement how I did it, so hopefully I stop getting “advertise this weighloss” supplement/pill/drink/food , you name it.
If I didn’t do it, if I won’t use it, I will not advertise it. •
