This is NOT where I expected to be at 50 years old!
.
Starting over on my fitness journey trying to regain my ability to live the active lifestyle I love.
.
Struggling financially to the point of being scared about the future.
.
Still trying to find my place in this world where I can make an impact and make this world a better place!
.
Luckily for me I am surrounded by a lot of amazing people doing amazing things by serving others!
.
People who help me to keep perspective that my problems, though overwhelming for me, are NOTHING compared to what other people overcome every single day!
.
I live a very blessed life and I am not going to take it for granted or waste it!
.
I’m going to make the most of every day by working on improving myself and my situation as well as paying it forward by sharing what I DO have with others....like my time, my knowledge, my strength, and my heart!
.
One day at a time!
.
One step at a time!
.
One person at a time!

We all have to start somewhere. But it’s so hard not to compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20 and wonder why you don’t look like they do or have their life. And we always think that it was easy for them but it’s too hard for us to change.
~
Totally been there for all of the above…
~
It wasn’t until a yearly physical several years ago when my dr told me I needed to watch my weight that I realized I was carrying around 20 extra pounds
~
And I was baffled. I’d been running and going to a weekly weights class, so how did that extra poundage get there? Other runners I knew could eat whatever they wanted, so why couldn’t I?
~
When I decided to dig in, to go all in >>> that is when the results came. It was nothing crazy—I didn’t have to totally give up carbs and could still eat pizza or have an occasional cookie. >>> But that is when the last 20 pounds came off. ♀️
~
It’s really just clean fuel for your body + fitness + mindset that =
Confidence + Happiness + Energy
~
Ready to start your journey? Enrollment for my June virtual bootcamp is now open and I’ve got 5 spots left! I’m still on my my journey and looking for others to join me on my way so we can rock it together!

There will never be a “just right” time…Don’t wait for some day because that’s today! Drop your ♀️ below or fill out the application form linked in my bio to hold your spot!
A ship is meant to sail on the open seas, just as we are meant to grow as individuals. Here are a few things I’ve done in the last 4 years that have been far from the safety of the shore.
•Moved from the house where we lived and raised our babies for 21 years to a brand new part of town that felt like moving to a new city #emptynestlife
•Decided to expand my influence as a personal trainer by becoming an online health and fitness coach #bestchoiceever
•Ran 3 half marathons, 3 Ragnar relays and my first full marathon #runnergirlforlife
•Read dozens and dozens of personal development books as I’ve dived into learning how to help people (and myself!) learn how to change their lifestyles to live healthier lives #mindsetiseverything •Traveled thousands of miles as we’ve entered a new phase of life where we travel to see our family that’s spread across both the country and the world #seetheworld
•Made so many new friends in both real life and especially here on social media #myigfamily •And let’s not forget about indoor surfing, which has led to my current exciting surgery and recovery experience
But those are just the big, more obvious things I’ve done. There are little things we all can do every day, like saying hi to a stranger and sincerely asking how their day is going, or even just trying a new vegetable!
Pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones helps us make the most of this great adventure we call life! What are you going to do today that’s out of your comfort zone? Tell me in the comments!

Do you wanna know the number one reason I see women struggling with their health and weight?
Stress management.
The constant worry, anxiety and doubt about yourself and the future
✖️You’re forgetting to live in the present moment, to appreciate the now
You’re forgetting to appreciate where you’re currently at and always worrying about where you want to get to
♀️Why put yourself through it twice?
How can you expect to get where you want to go when you don’t look at where you are?
✨Not to mention the constant stress and worry releases stress hormones that are impacting your ability to get results
You’re constantly out of balance.
The future is there when it comes and you can’t do anything to change it
So you might as well live in the moment where you DO have the power to change

We almost turned around. For a few hours we had been navigating on a frozen crust of snow. No evidence of new snowfall or enjoyable skiing was in sight.
I found myself skinning directly uphill instead of making the traditional zigzags and kick turns that would be appropriate on a slope of this nature. But I couldn't stomp my feet into the surface hard enough to gain traction and I naively left my ski crampons at home.
At this point, @chutingproject asked what I wanted to do. I looked at him and said, "I have zero attachments to what we're doing." It was easily misconstrued for wanting to stop, but really, I just had no attachment to the outcome. I was content, right here, right now.
I had drawn myself into the present moment. I stopped looking up at the additional 2000 vertical feet above us. I stared down at the tips of my skis. I thought about the rhythm and the movement of my body as I slid one foot in front of the other in a short stride maximizing the grip of the skins on the steep snow crust beneath my skis. I felt my heartbeat in my chest and tried to slow it down. I felt my breath as it filled my belly and my lungs.
Sure, we were a long way from the top, but we weren't a long way from here, from this moment. And it was a pleasurable one, outdoors on skis with friends. How easily we can create stress in the moment thinking about what could be - past remorse or future speculation taking us away from all we have - this moment.
One step at a time. One breath at a time, we pressed on. As we entered the bottom of the couloir, the snow magically changed. We found the snow line. We found powder.
The remaining 1500' to the Mt. Nebo summit at 11,929' remained expectation free. One step at a time. We stood atop the Wasatch Range, marveled in the conditions on May 25th and prepared for our descent. It treated us well. Thank you, mountains for always being my teacher.
Swipe for a video of the action and to see more from our outing!
