Have you ever made a lifelong friend from Instagram? ‍♀️ I have. Genuinely. In fact, that’s my absolute favorite part about photography. I can honestly say that I have made true, lifelong, real, and genuine friendships from this amazing platform. Liz is one of these people. Last year, she reached out to me after discovering my insta from #Catholicconnect. When she first DM’ed me, she was grateful I did not peg her as some internet creeper. Heck no! This tool for connection. I am not a nay-sayer of social media, because it has dramatically & positively influenced my life. Sure, there are always downfalls, but the good outweighs the bad for me personally. I felt so blessed to meet a fellow Catholic sister AND future military spouse from across the country. When she heard about my surgery, Liz was one of the first people to donate. Over the months, she has sent me so many sweet letters and little presents. I have never been the best gift-giver, so her generosity truly astounds me. I have been incredibly blessed emotionally and spiritually by our friendship. When she messaged me, “You have GOT be our photographer!” I could not have been more excited and humbled. Liz & her fiancé, LC, flew me out to Dover, Delaware to photograph their stunning engagement session. LC is a pilot in the Air Force & proudly serves our country (be sure to thank them both in the comments)! As a result, I had the honor of photographing this stunning couple with a C-17 in the background. After that, we explored Delaware’s beaches and National parks. Talk about an EPIC adventure! In only a few months, I am honored to be their wedding photographer. I cannot wait to stand by their side as they say I Do. Liz, I am eternally grateful for our forever friendship. Thank you for having the courage to message me nearly a year ago!

Dependapotamos.” ✨ These are things I’ve heard personally, not all directed at me, but in conversations I’ve had. These things are hurtful, and usually come from those who don’t understand or choose to not understand this lifestyle. ✨ This girl and so many other military spouses I know are FAR from all of those assumptions mentioned before! I’d like to introduce you to this lady right here. This is my sister in law, Jen! She is married to my husband’s twin brother. He is currently deployed, and they have been separated for the past 7 months. She supported her husband throughout his career AND still kept striving to reach her own career and educational goals too!! She’s grown to be an amazingly strong woman and I’m so proud of her!! Can’t wait until her and my brother in law are finally reunited!! And...Happy Nurses Week sis! how to be a military spouse 101 ⁣ ⁣ ↠ expect time away from your significant other⁣ ↠ have lots of skype dates⁣ ↠ accept the amount of stink that comes from their dirty uniforms⁣ ↠ prepare for plans to change, and change again, and then again⁣ ↠ don’t hold your breath when a certain date is set. it will probably change⁣ ↠ spend holidays and special occasions apart⁣ ↠ hold down the fort for months by yourself ↠ stay busy and positive during the hard times⁣ ↠ own multiple pieces clothing in camo print⁣ ↠ make lemonade out of the lemons life throws at you (listen to @tay_blackburn ‘s podcast) ↠ stay strong and be proud of the supporter you are!⁣ ⁣ military life is no joke. sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve to be known as an army spouse since my man is not “full time army” and is national guard doing weekend drills but we have spent looooong periods of time apart and I totally feel the weight of it even if we don’t live on a base somewhere. it has many ups and downs but I am so proud of my husband & grateful for this journey we have together with the military
