AND let’s be real, it will also have you looking your best! It has given me confidence in my body that I’ve never had before. I’ve never been considered “small” or “petite” I’m 5’9” & haven’t weighed under 120lbs since like 7th grade or something.And while I wasn’t overweight, I also wasn’t proud or confident & the numbers used to bother me. We all deal w/ insecurities no matter our size. Now I no longer weigh myself, it’s nonsense, & the number no longer effects me, I want to say I’m around 150-160lbs, but who cares. NOW I have more “curves” that have been created by building muscle & I FEEL great! My body can move without PAIN, which is what I want for all my #mtcapp community & that’s why we focus on weight training & why I also throw in mobility, yoga, pilates, HIIT, & all varieties of training so that we can be the BEST, healthiest, most confident damn versions of ourselves!❤️✊Consistency will always pay off, which is why I make the workouts fun & challenging, so that we stop thinking about working out as something we “have” to do & instead look forward to it, then it becomes routine, then we get the results & don’t stop b/c we’re all going to be #fitforlife #noquickfixes ✊I really believe #healthiswealth High five for not only looking good but more importantly FEELING good!

Day 2 of the @greco.oakville movement series is about how to maintain structural stability during movement!

@mdonn7 and @sydnneyjohnson take you through a scapular exercise to maintain structural stability.

1️⃣Start by pulling your shoulders towards your hips and keep them in that position.
2️⃣Move the shoulder through entire extension while keeping it stable!

Think STRUCTURE first when moving! Make an effort to keep stability through your scapula in order to put your shoulder in the best position to complete the movement.

If you don’t feel like you’re working hard then you are leaking energy and efficiency!

Strength in a different way. You don't always need heavy tools to get strong.

"Neurons that fire together, wire together" in the brain. ➡️ First proposed in 1949 by neuro scientist Donald Hebb and now widely accepted. He used this phrase to describe how pathways in the brain are formed and reinforced through repetition.
So what exactly does this mean for strength training or more importantly, movement?
Simple: when you move in ways that the body was designed to move, and do so repeatedly - those movements stick and stay with you. The reverse is obviously true as well.
That is why the philosophy of #originalstrength and #osperformance makes so much sense. We follow the perfect design of the human body and train in ways that give more than they take.

Here's an example of how that's done by simply having the shoulders work with the hips and legs via the core in a reflex driven manner.
2:00 side sit through and reach w elbow touch
2:00 each leg, loaded cross crawl lunge matrix
- - (shown are different ways to load the matrix)
2:00 elevated rocking + push-up to elevated roll
4 rounds of continuous work
Then:
10 min of :30 on/:30 rest KB swing @ 32 kg
Then:
10 min of chain loaded walking at an enthusiastic pace @ 190# O'chain.
