This prep has been a huge mind game so far...for many reasons. My prep coach keeps telling me to look at pictures and not at the scale.... So tonight I finally did that. Left: November 2014 - 1 week from my Pro Bikini debut where I took 1st place & then a week later won my Figure Pro Card. Right: Today - 8 weeks out from my 2nd Pro Figure show. There is about an 8 lb difference between these pictures. . Ham Day: Tension Squats . I had planned a heavier squat session today but while warming up the weight was feeling HEAVY! . To save myself from struggling with a sub par weight (‍♂️) I decided to change up my approach and do more tension/tempo work which let me die with a much lighter weight by never resting at the top! . Even though I perform a high bar squat with a much more quad dominant drop, the rest of my workout was entirely posterior chain focused which covered: - leg curls - glute ham raise - high stance leg press - romanian deadlifts . I made sure to suit up with @smith.julian "The Quad Guy's" shorts from @goldenaestheticsofficial to achieve maximum depth! Without em I am just half repping all day long. ‍♂️ . Success stands on a solid Foundation.

. Arm Day: Seated Reset Curl . Disclaimer: to see how to perform this exercise with twice as much weight, please report to @smith.julian profile. (Also props for introducing this lift to me) . Over the last weeks I’ve been consciously adding an exercise to each workout that gives me an opportunity to temporality unload the weight after each rep. . Not out of laziness... I’m doing this purposely to help recruit more muscle and increase tension in the biceps (or whatever the target may be, exercise dependent). . What I am essentially doing is flexing my biceps against the weight as it still rests on my legs so when I decide to move the bar it will be as isolated in the biceps as possible. . I personally enjoy being creative with movements to see how I can differently and hopefully better feel my muscle. A standing barbell curl is a phenomenal, staple exercise but there’s nothing wrong with making a new challenge for yourself. . Arm day consisted of 4 tricep/bicep supersets. Seated curls shown here were performed for 3 sets of 10 with a reset french press (implementing the same idea on triceps). . Success stands on a solid Foundation.
