I still get messages asking me if I’m competing at Worlds... Im no longer with Wbff as last year I transitioned into the NPC which has proved to be an amazing experience. This wknd was my second national qualifier and my second overall win. Many people think cardio will lead to weight loss, and weight loss will lead to the body they want, so they do cardio every day - You’ll never run yourself into the body that you want, though - There’s more to it. A healthily-sculpted body requires much more than weight loss. It requires strength, and muscle-building. Cardio will never be able to produce those results on its own - This is why I recommend focusing your limited gym time on strength training first. This will help you develop the muscle you need to look and feel your best. Be strategic with your nutrition to cause your excess fat to melt off, and utilize cardio for overall health and as a tool to help with your calorie deficit - Get strong. Build muscle. Lose excess fat. This is the recipe for developing a toned body. Strength training and cardio both have their place but strength training is primary. Seeing my clients grasp this concept and get comfortable with the weight section is one of the most fun aspects of coaching.
