I often have the privilege of working with some amazing acrobats. But, It has been years since I have had a steady training partner in Acro. This has led to limitations in certain areas of my physical practice. That led to many amazing opportunities for me to learn all of the different roles in this Acro game. Sometimes physically, Sometimes just as an observer. Training the eye and understanding of how the physics and bio-mechanics works, and reading the face and body to tell me how much focus/stress is in the appropriate place to execute your role as a base/flyer. While flying is still my greatest feeling, Teaching is where I seem to hit a stride. I have a bunch of projects i am participating in this year. See if any are near you. Acro tips: Base: Start closer to the sit bone and then work your way towards the ankle, this helps ease into it. Walk your hands to flyer elbows. When ready come down, bring the flyer out behind you. Flyer: take your time and know your limits. Make sure to be ready to the word “Down” when ready come out. Spotter stand behind the base and flyer, hands on the flyers hips ready to catch if needed.
