Hello Everyone! Today I went to go see my breast surgeon for a follow up visit, and I heard something that was so sweet to my ears. She told me that the lab results have all come back and have stated that I am CANCER FREE! I can’t believe that I have arrived because looking back, since Thanksgiving of last year, it has been a very difficult and hard journey. I didn’t post many of the other photos that were too graphic to share, but it has been an uphill battle. By the grace of God, and because of all of you who have been rooting for me, praying for me, standing by me… it has all helped me to endure through this season of my life. . . I have learned a lot, and I plan to share my knowledge of things I have learned in my future posts. I am still in need of finishing up reconstruction which will continue till the end of this year, and will be on hormone therapy for the next 5-10 years. I may not be posting as frequently but will keep you updated as I move forward with these next steps of the journey. . . Because I am opting out from receiving radiation treatment to kill any microscopic cancer cells that may surface later, it is very important that I find a good doctor to journey alongside me in the next 10 years that will help me to manage my estrogen levels and be on the right kind of hormone therapy for prevention. Today marks a huge milestone in my life, and I feel so blessed to share it with you all. Thank you for your continual support and outpouring of love through the cards and flowers I am still receiving. I am so grateful and love you all!☺️❤️

Yessss‼️ Pathology results showed clear margins and I won’t need any more surgery. I can finally BREATHE! And just for clarity, no I did not look this happy directly after waking up from anesthesia . . I need a few weeks to heal as they had to reopen the first incision but then I can move on to radiation to finish up my treatment plan....finally! There are parts of this process (hormone therapy) that will continue for years, but I’m so incredibly happy that I’ve got the tough stuff behind me. . . Thank you to my nurse and best friend @rmadelmayer for taking care of me post surgery. Sometimes I still can’t believe everything we’ve gone through this year. #myrock

Im sooooooo happy! Today marks the last day of my Breast Cancer treatments! To say this year has been challenging is an understatement. This year has tested my faith, and my strength, more than I ever thought possible. I had a lot of bad moments, hours, and days. BUT through it all, I tried to see the best in the worst, and though it all, I seen blessings everywhere. In my Family, in my Friends, in my Doctors, in the hospitals, and even in my treatments. I’ve met some pretty amazing people, that had it sooooooo much worse than I did. I’ve met AMAZING Nurses, and I’ve met some incredible people who have become so important to me and who have changed my life forever! My SIL told me, this will turn your world upside down for about a year, and she was exactly right! Im thankful for my journey, because it has changed me. Im definitely not the same person I was a year ago. I see life, and everything in it so differently! this is an out of the ordinary “portrait day” post but whatever. Lol. My travel buddy and I alongside our night images. “To Infinity” We did it guys! We placed a ribbon at our first exhibition! The San Diego county fair holds one of the largest international photo exhibits with thousands of entries taken from all over the world. I was struck with 3 seconds of emotion as I approached my photo. These photos are like our babies. We put days, weeks and months planning our images down to the minute. We then spend countless hours and sleepless nights putting in the details of our work in front of a computer screen. Also, the extra time we put into selecting the right paper and correcting the final image. Just so we can do the scene justice. We do it because we want the viewer to feel what we felt. We do it because we want to viewer to feel as if they were there. I learned so much from this experience. I learned from my mistakes and I can’t wait to apply them to the future photos and events. Congrats to all the participant and friends who made it this far and huge kudos to the artists who won respectively in their categories. Thank you to those who have continued to support my adventures from day 1. Thank you to those who have trusted me with their family portraits. And thank you to @chromedigital for the rad prints! Special thanks to my two young boys who inspired me to come with something to share with them. Thanks to my brother Andres for helping me fund these very expensive prints.
