Broke out the jump rope after seeing @ka2lyst. Man, I’m rusty, but it all started coming back (been focusing on strength following the Ragnar a few weeks ago). — While running in place with the jump rope, the rope creates a physical frame that we talk about imagining while running. Kick the jump rope, break the frame. Don’t do that. — You’ll move when you let gravity pull you forward. When my weight is above my supports (feet), there is no movement (gravity is pulling me down right over my supports [swipe]). When my weight is in front of my supports (doesn’t have to be very far [swipe]), gravity wants to pull me down still, but I’m out in front of my supports and start moving forward. I’m not pushing myself forward. I’m simply pulling my feet off of the ground and falling forward. You can do the same while running (without the jump rope). Save energy. Save your joints.
