A lot was going on and I was rethinking my move back to San Diego because things just seemed like they weren’t going my way. From my coaching dilemma, to injuries, jobs, my living situation, friendships, relationship, family...everything seemed to be falling apart. To the point where I had become severely depressed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have experienced episodes of depression before, the normal ones, but nothing like this. Days without leaving my room. No eating or drinking. Just sleeping and laying in my bed all day. I felt like my bed had a Damien Maia type squeeze on my life and my mind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I needed to be assisted with solutions and ways to handle these issues that were plaguing every area of my life. Therapy got me that and slowly shifted my mindset throughout the summer months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was a new man. A man who didn’t look at negative things and dismiss the positive. A man who saw the positive in everything even in bad situations. A man who was mentally strong enough to silence those inner thoughts of self doubt. A man who was willing to leave his ego in that bed every morning and take ownership of his own life, his own mind, his own thoughts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Don’t get it twisted, a lot of those life issues still persist. But I’ve changed my outlook on life, on myself, on my purpose, and on my goals. I’ve realized through this year, your mind controls everything. The more you learn to control it the more you will change the direction of your thoughts, actions, and yes even your life.
